"hmm..." hunter thought on that for a moment, he did need to pick up a few more text books for his classes that he hadn't expected to be on his class criteria, so with a shrug of his shoulders he said "why not, I need a few more class books anyway. may find a novel i like too while I'm at it."

She listened to him the way he spoke he didn't seem very interested in her. So she would stop for now unless he showed some interest. She walked along silently not entirely sure what to say right now she hated awkward silences but she didn't know what else to do. She figured it was his turn to start a conversation up.

When she didn't speak after a moment he looked at her, realizing then that he did something wrong and and knew he had to pick up the ball and start up the conversation this time. "so, what classes are you taking?" he asked, figuring it was the safest thing to start with and work out from there.

"Just the basics for now calculus 2, literature, art history, microbiology, and french 1" she said softly "I'm still trying to decide what I want so I figured I'd take some things I'm interested in and see where I go from there. What about you?" she asked softly she was still a bit quiet. She was normally the really cranky nerd type that hid in the back and never talked to anyone.

"Oddly enough, game design" he said, he knew his old team mates would laugh if they heard him say that, but that was his goal, to make video games. "odd because it's the last thing my former football team mates would have expected out of me." he said, "but you do have a good idea if you don't mind my saying so. find what you like and works best for you at the same time and you'll succeed." he added.

"I figure why waste time with changing majors when I can walk out with various degrees until I know what I want. it gets me a good education and makes me well rounded." she said softly She looked over at him "so you were a jock? I never thought jocks could be anything but assholes and bullys who think they are better than everyone else." she said softly.

"most jocks are, some of us aren't. I only did it as a pass time though, and after four years of taking hits for a egotistical skinny guy with a strong throwing arm, I had enough." he explained, and shrugged in and exaggerated manner just to be funny"why people idolize the QB and running backs is beyond me."

She smiled and stopped looking at him strangely "you aren't like most boys are you. its almost like you skipped a few years ahead of everyone else. Your girlfriend is lucky to have you" she figured he had a girlfriend at least she was probably right in which case she had been wasting her time flirting with him and now she felt so silly.

"Thanks, most guys have trouble keeping their heads on straight." he replied, to the first half of her comment anyways, the next was different the what she was likely expecting. but actually, no, I do not have girlfriend" he said, wanting to skip the long story he opted to keep what he said next and blunt. "long story short, she found her all over another guy on prom and I just left her there with her new fling and who ever the poor girl he brought with him as his date to prom." he explained, no need to drag it out in a long story he thought.

"I'm sorry...that wasn't right of her...you are too nice you deserve better than that" she said softly she bit her lipt hide the happiness she would just keep to herself. She looked over at him shyly but stopped herself he was probably still hurting from it "I've had similar problem but I never went to any of my proms never had anyone to go with" she said laughing at herself slightly.

He just shook his head at her apologizing for something that she didn't do. "It's not your fault, not the first time a girl left me for some silver tongued bastard." he stated. "Besides, rumor had it that she was a slut anyways, so I'm not heart broken." he added as he stuffed his hands in the pockets of his blue jeans. "But from your last comment, I take it you're not dating either, huh?" he asked.

"no. I've only dated a couple times guys generally go out with me once then they won't even talk to me ever again I guess they are afraid I'm going to eat their soul. Few guys even tried I dress like most of the guys do they are more interested in girls with their hooters hanging out. now mind you I could do that but I find it disgusting" she said softly.

Hunter raised a brow at her comments "well, while you have the body for that sort of display, I'll have to agree that dressing like your about burst out at the seems is too much, most girls I saw doing that were either teases and flirts, or sluts making it easier to get a guy going." he said, while he'll admit that he appreciated a good womanly form, he also frowned on the wanton display of it in public, and the way some guys talked about women was also down right degrading to them. "sometimes I think our society is heading down a road of debauchery, and that coming from an atheist like myself means something."

She blushed slightly at the conversation they were having "its nice to meet a guy that is looking for a woman with a brain as apposed to a nice piece of ass. Men look at women like a piece of meat nothing more now days. Its horrible. Now you know why I don't date much" she said soflty laughing at herself. she thought about trying to ask him out but thought it a bit innappropriate for her to make the first move.

"I can agree with that." he said "While I do appreciate the form of a woman's' body, I think it's ridicules the way most guys, even some of the few I sometimes call me friends, talk about it." he explained, he knew first hand what he was saying, he use to have to listen to it after practice, how so and so wanted a piece of one girl or another. just wrong, what pissed him off the most was when they started talking about his sister like that, he actually punched one of the defensive linemen for one remark about his twin sisters body, and left the locker room with a stern warning if they even spoke about his sister like that, he'd personally castrate them next time. girls he didn't know too well or at all were fine, but bring family into the mix and that's like lighting of power keg. "sometimes I wonder if I'm part of a dying breed."

"I like rare breeds" she whispered softly. She was a bit shy about it but she liked him she seemed like one of the few decent guys out there. "I'm sorry about punching you by the way you didn't deserve that" she said softly. "you deserve the best girl out there you are what most would call the perfect guy." she said softly

"perfect huh?" he asked, again raising a brow, "I don't few myself that way, I know my strengths and my weaknesses." he said, "I'm just old fashioned at heart, now I don't go dressed in togas though, that's too old for my tastes" he said, laughing slightly the pun. "as for the punch forget about it, no harm done, not the first time I've had some hit me in the jaw, most likely won't be the last either. I'm just glad you weren't hurt when you fell."

"I'm small but I'm no flower. most guys don't like girls that are strong as them if not tougher." she said softly. She laughed a bit "my parents wanted me to act more like a girl yet I always came home covered in mud and other nasty thigns growing up" she joked.

Hunter laughed some at her comment. guess by forcing you to do one lead you to do another" he said "as for a woman as strong or stronger then most guys, I find that good thing. means I wouldn't have to worry as much if I were dating a girl like that, In fact i find that quality quite attractive." he said

She smiled "and why aren't you dating a girl like that I'm sure you could have any girl you wanted if you just asked her" she said softly she was flirting with him very much now she wanted him to know that she wanted him to ask her out. She wanted him to see she wanted to spend more time with him.

"you really think so?" he asked, playing innocent, though it was clear that he knew he could if he wanted to. "what about you, I mean, you're beautiful, hands down, the most beautiful young woman I have ever seen, I'm surprised you don't have men throwing themselves at you feet begging for attention" he said, wanting to hear what she had to say first before throwing out a offer for something like a date.

"I wouldn't say it if I didn't think it" she said softly. there was a long pause before she responded to what else he said She turned bright red " I don't want just any man. I want some one that will respect me, care about me, and treat me the way I have always dreamed and eventually love me I know it sounds like a stupid young girls dream but its my dream and I'm holding out for him." she said softly. "I don't have any men swarming at my feet because they are all afraid of me. you are the only one that didn't just run off after I punched you. why?"

"Well you have my respect, with a punch like the one you gave me I'd have to be a idiot not to respect you" he said. pausing for a moment. "but I think you have nice dream, it's simple, but sweet." he explained. "but for why I didn't run, I dunno. maybe I was slightly shocked that you did punch me, but I'm not going to turn tail and run away crying just cause I get hit by a member of the fairer sex. I'll sit there and take if need be but i wouldn't run." he explained, chuckling some afterward as it sounded a bit stupid.

She smirked over at him "you are like dieing race of men I wish there were more of you perhaps some day I might have one of them for myself but I can only hope to be so lucky" she said making a bit of a bold move but trying not to be too bold she didn't want to scare him away.

"didn't I just that a moment ago?" he asked, jokingly, but nodded as he smiled some to her. "well, I would hope there is someone out there for everyone. I just hope that I meat the one I'm meant to be with before I do something stupid" he said. "Butt.. going back to what you said about me getting a date with any girl I wanted if I asked, what would you do if, oh say, I were to ask you out sometime?" he asked.
