It had been hard, no, no it was not. Amber was a hateful bitch who hoarded everything that was good in the world and gave the leftovers to Ashley. She was dating the world's greatest guy all through high school. Jake was sweet and he did everything he could for her. So what did Amber do? She took him for granted. She cheated on him and used him for all he was worth, not caring who she was going to hurt in the process. Ashley couldn't stand it. Jake was so attractive and kind that she couldn't stand to see him hurt. That and she had deep feelings for him. I mean come on, they knew each other for years. She had to sit and watch while her sister toyed and played with his emotions. She had had enough. Senior year she finally confessed to him that her sister had been cheating on him. At first he ignored her, which hurt deeply, but she didn't have to wait long. After graduation Amber was going to go off to college overseas, and the break-up between the two was definitely messy. He was finally free, and up for grabs. Ashley was finally happy, going off to college with him in order to keep him close. They now share a house together while they go to college.

It had been a slow morning, and she could barely get herself out of bed. Studies were really starting to wear down on her, she could tell. She was never the kind of girl to party hard, nor did she study hard. In high school she was pretty much ignored. She didn't belong to any particular clique, so she didn't have many friends and spent most of her time at home. That was how she had become so close to Jake. She usually hung out with him while he had waited for her sister to go on many dates. Amber had always been the star woman that men oogled and fell for.

This morning she could be found in the kitchen. Their little campus apartment really wasn't that big. There was a shared kitchen and living room, a table separating the two for some form of closure. Around the corner were the stairs, where you could go down to the two bedrooms and the bathroom. That was where Ashley and Jake's rooms were. They were living so close and she still had yet to make her move, or for him to even make a move on her. She was starting to feel like she was never going to be as good as her sister, but she didn't want to think about that.

Ashley was sitting at the table, her blond hair falling over her shoulders in it's straight locks. She had a cup between her pale hands that she was staring into, her beautiful blue eyes absorbing the brown liquid that was within it. Coffee was some kind of amazing cure that could take away all of her illnesses, even dreading the morning. With every sip she was feeling more alert and warmth was spreading through her body, as she was only clad in a pink tank top and fuzzy pink shorts. They had been her pajamas from the night before and she found them so comfortable to be in. Today was a weekend and she didn't have any classes, so why she was up so early she didn't know, but she also didn't care. It was nice to just sit at the table and drink her coffee.
