Dragonball Z: Broly: Disaster on the Horizon (Raven, Commy-Fluffy, and me)

A small boy of about nine years old is sitting on a park bench happily munching on some licorice. "Daddy? What's wrong? You look upset." He had seen the upset look on Gohan's face. Although the boy himself was unable to sense anything, he twitched his tail in anticipation. He felt like a fight was going to break out at any moment. His elder sister stood behind him, leaning on him as if he was an armrest. "You know, Gochen, Dad's been kinda serious since Grandpa Goku died." Gochen let his tail wrap around his elder sister's thigh, which needless to say embarrassed her, and sighed. "Don't remind me, Ne-Chan."

Gohan and Pan sensed the power from Piccolo's training session with Rhazui. Gochen had an idea as he recalled the story about when his father was facing the Androids. He looked up and tugged on Gohan's shirt. "Daddy? What about having Uncle Trunks go back and get help from when you were a kid?" Pan was shocked and wondered what her father's reaction would be.

On the other side of the planet, a certain purple-haired Saiya-Jin sneezed out of the blue. "TRUNKS! FOCUS, DAMNIT!!" Trunks looked at Vegeta. "Yes, sir." As the two Saiya-Jin royals trained in the HTC, Dende was talking with Popo. "Mr. Popo, I still can't belive that Broly showed up and wished Goku dead. I just hope we can figure out something to do before he returns."

Gohan looked at his son in disbelief. 'Did my son just suggest going back in time?!' As the young half-Saiya-Jin stood up, Pan chuckled. "Hey, Dad. How 'bout we go see Mr. Tien and Launch? We haven't been to the Kame House in a while. Let's go say 'hi'." Gochen leaned back to look up at his sister, his head bumping into her chest. "Ne-Chan? Who are you talking about?" Gohan and Pan both laughed. The last time they'd seen Tien and Launch was at their wedding when Gochen was still an infant. Videl had returned to the group in time to hear Pan's idea. "They're some old friends, honey." The boy dropped his Twizzlers and bolted to Videl, pinning her in a hug. "MOMMA!"

As the Son family prepared for the trip to Kame House, there was someone on the verge of awakening. An old enemy who had killed Goku with no hope for revival, the Legendary Super Saiya-Jin was awakening, and his power had grown even more. Broly was stirring.....

Suddenly, Gochen swayed and dropped to his knees. "Ugh, Momma, I don't feel so good..." The child was going through a fainting spell that was linked to his illness, a rare disease that attacked Saiya-Jins once every thousand generations, 'Xyxez Syndrome'. Vegeta had informed the family of the disease when the boy had been born Super Saiya-Jin and had not dropped out of that state. "Gohan, get some ice. Pan, his medicine."

Meanwhile, Tien sensed a strong power. "Launch, I have a bad feeling about this week." he said as he saw Rhazui approaching from the north.

Deep in the reaches of space, Broly twitched, his life force lowly returning. The father-son kamehameha that had sent him through the sun had left extensive damages to him, but he was glad he'd killed Kakarot in the process. "Kakarot...Your planet will persih..."

An hour later, the Son family had arrived on the island, and Gochen was splashing in the water like the 9-year old that he was, and Pan was playing along with him, keeping an eye on Roshi, knowing that he would try to cop a feel if given the chance.

"Rhazui, it's good to see you again." Gohan said, shaking the Saiya-Jin woman's hand. "How've you been?" Videl remained in the kitchen with Launch, the two women making a home-cooked meal for everyone. "I'm interested in how your training is going too."

Gohan smiled. "Well, Gochen's fainting spells have started to be less frequent. I think he might be growing out of them. And I think he might have an attraction for Pan that's more than familial..." Gohan's eyes seemed to be worried when he said this. "And his strength is getting expnentially better. The training that I gave him with Trunks the other day was helpful. He managed to reach the second state. I wonder if he's going to reach Three like his sister did?"

Pan waded over to her brother and saw the object he held up. "Ne-Chan? What's this orange starry thing?" Pan recognized the orange ball adorned with four stars in an instant. "That's..."

Gohan nodded. He'd felt it too. "The reason I didn't tell him should be obvious. All you have to do is think back a year." Pan looked at her little brother. "Hey, bro, I'll explain. The seven Dragonballs are very powerful items that when gathered together summon a dragon named Shenron. He grants you one wish. It can be almost anything, even bringing the dead back to life." Here the boy chirped up. "Then we can get Grandpa back?" Gohan shook his head. "There's a catch to the wish. If someone is wished to die, they can never be revived by another wish."

Just on the near-side of Venus, Broly woke fully. He powered up, sending a single orb of green Ki towards Planet Earth. it was small enough to go un-noticed by the general population, but when the orb neared its target, even Gochen felt it. "Daddy?" Gohan stared at the direction of the planet closest to Earth. "How did he survive? This is not good."

'This is bad' Gohan thought. "Pan. Take your brother inside and get your mother. Go to the Lookout as soon as you can." Pan looked confused. "But why-" "Don't argue with me, Pan. Just go. Tell your mother it's because he is back." Pan's face paled. "Y-you mean that giant freak who used Shenron to....Bro, we're leaveing now." Pan grabbed her brother's arm and burst towards the house. Gohan turned to Rhazui. "Go tell Piccolo and Vegeta to meet us at the Lookout." He gave the Saiya-Jin woman a soft kiss on the cheek, as was the royalty custom Vegeta had told him about. "We will be waiting for you there, Lady Rhazui." With that, Gohan began walking towards Kame House where he saw his wife and children. "Let's go." With that, they flew off.

Meanwhile, Trunks and Vegeta had just arrived back at Capsule Corp. They hadn't felt the energy spike since they'd been in the HTC when it had occurred. "Trunks, I'll be in the shower. If something comes up, you know what to do." Trunks sat on the couch with a can of Pepsi. "Got it."

"FATHER! WE'VE GOT A PROBLEM!!" Trunks called out as he unlocked the locker of senzu beans. "What is it, Trunks?" Vegeta stepped out of the bathroom totally nude, unaware that Rhazui was there. When he saw here, he made no motion to cover himself. "And to what do I owe the...pleasure...of your company, Rhazui? This had better be good."

Gohan explained the situation to Dende and Popo, both of whom paled. "Y-you mean B-...he's coming back?! Oh hell, this is bad."

Vegeta watched her eyes. A slight tint appeared to his cheeks, but he wrapped a towel around him. "Fine. Trunks, take Rhazui ahead. I'll be there shortly." Trunks nodded and jotted a quick note for his mother. "Lady Rhazui, we should get going. If Gohan's there, he's probably got a plan already."

Gohan had finished explaining the idea that his son had had by the tie Trunks and Rhazui arrived. When Gochen saw the Saiya-Jin woman, he walked over to her side and smiled, holding up a crudely-drawn picture of a pair of SSJ girls. One was obviously Pan and the other was Rhazui. "Hi, Auntie Rhazu! I made this for ya!"

Goku paced around Yamma's office. The halo above his head still annoyed him. "I don't care how, King Yamma! Find a way for me to go back! They have no hope of beating Broly as they are now!" Yamma stayed silent, and Goku knew he was getting no progress from the King of the Otherworld.

Vegeta arrived as Dende began explaining the hopeful idea. "We were thinking of sending someone back in time to retrieve someone to help out. Trunks, your mom has the time machine, right?" Trunks nodded, sensing his father's arrival "Yeah. And she's kept it in perfect condition, too." Gochen spoke up as he saw Vegeta. "Hi, King!" As the talk progressed, it was eventually decided that they would go and retreive Gohan's own past self, from right after he'd defeated Cell. Gochen volunteered to go back, as did his sister and Piccolo. "Do keep in mind, Gohan, that I'm only going because your son looks like you do." the Namekian said.

Trunks looked at her, as if in disbelief that she had just volunteered. He lost the confused look a second later as he spoke. "It's, uh...on Mt. Pao...near Son's...gravesite." Gohan sighed, holding his left shoulder, where his arm used to be. He'd lost it in a battle with a reincarnated Android 17, and his son had cried for his father's loss. "Daddy? Is Uncle Trunks talkin' bout that wierd egg-looking thing by Grandpa's grave?" The fact that the youngest person among them had mentioned even a hint of Goku without flinching showed that he'd left the grieving process. Gochen looked up at Rhazui. "Rasu-Hime, do you think we can make this work?" Vegeta's jaw dropped at the kid's title for Rhazui. However, he said nothing about it as he turned from the group. "If the Time Capsule is near Kakarot's grave, then we should get moving before Broly shows up." With that he took flight towards Goku's grave on Mt Pao.

Just outside the moon's orbit, Broly stared down at the Earth, smirking happily. "Now to finally destroy everything that Kakarot was involved with. First, his child's children!"

Back in the past, Trunks and Goku felt an odd presence in the air. "Goku, something's going to happen soon." Goku nodded at Trunks' revelation. "I know. It feels almost like something from a different future is on its way."

Bulma was putting the last touches on the time machine as Vegeta walked in. "Is this thing ready?" Bulma nodded. "Sure is, Honey. I was just putting the last few bits of training programs into the computer for you. You can leave as soon as the others get here." Vegeta smiled for the first time in a while. "Good. One million times gravity, right?" Bulma giggled at her husband's insatiable lust for the fight. "Yep. By the way, who all's going back?"

Trunks, who just arrived, spoke in place of his father. "It looks like it'll be Father, Lady Rhazui, Gochen and Piccolo." He thought to himself 'I hope the little tyke knows what he's doing' as Vegeta explained the plan to Bulma.
