Unwilling Companions (raven and pony)

"It's hard to explain. Your the last of your kind." His eye narrowed at the fire. "I don't have a kind. I've been this for ages. Your 'god' is cruel and I have little chance standing against him, I'm less then what you are. I am bond to do as I'm told." the fire seemed wild being able to bend anyway it seemed to wish. "You should rest tomorrow is a long day."

"I could try to make a deal with him he might let you go if I agree to mate" she said softly She looked over at him she drank some of her wineskin and laid down relaxing a bit "I hardly ever sleep anymore I just relax it lets me recharge sleeping is too risky for me and I can't alter that habit." she said softly. She just laid there relaxing it was all she really could do.

"It won't work until I fulfill my obligations. The law is binding until you have conceived and given birth I am bound to watch over you." It really was hard to quote the law when the gods were always changing them. He leaned back against the wall as he continued to watch the fire it all it's freedom, even if it was contained.

"well I suppose that due to the nature of the god that he probably already chose some one for me but I doubt based on his standards that I will find him worthy in my eyes. You aren't the only one who's trapped in this scheme I have never felt true freedom even when I was a child I was prisoner of society to be married off to some one I hated. I know how you feel to feel like a slave and prisoner your entire life. This constant running and being out here trying to hunt down this order is the closest thing I've ever had to true freedom." she said softly.

He sighed softly getting rather annoyed at the conversation. "Lets just rest up for our journey tomorrow. I don't know where we are going or what we will find so we need our rest." Oreb closed his eyes hoping to tune out everything else.

Anona growled and relaxed more she had hoped that by having to travel with this halfwit she would at least have some one to talk to She got up grabbing her pack and other things walking out of the cave if all he was going to do was make her feel worse she didn't want him around. She started her hike onward to her destination any comments he would make to stop her would be pointless she didn't really care at this point.

What was the point with this damned woman. All he did was shut up and try and rest, now she took it personally and was leaving. Why should he even care surely death had more rewards then hanging out watching over this woman. He rolled onto his side as the fire blazed trying to get some sleep.

She hiked onward until she got to large boulder she climbed on top of it she looked up at the sky looking at the stars she wished she could be free of all this nonsense free to live out her life and do as she wished perhaps even find some one that she so desired. All she wanted was some one that understood her and cared about her that is all she truly wanted she could live with being in a cage of sorts if she just had that one person that would not just die and leave her. She sat down just staring up up at the stars they were imprisoned much like her so strong so strange yet they couldn't leave the heavens.

He hated his life, this servitude to the gods. Why couldn't they just slay him and get it over with? He groaned and put out the fire. Looks like he was going to have to work again and not get any rest again. He walked into the moonlight as his body began to contort and grow shorter. The figure that stand in his place a bigger then average Raven, spreading it's wings the bird took flight flying the distance between them and landing on a branch a few feet from her.

"just leave me alone" she said simply she did not want him around all he did was be cold and rejecting to her and she didn't need that right now. "all I was doing was trying to show you that you aren't the only one who has it rough and you decided you would rather be rude and inconsiderate to me. I hoped that if I had a companion I was traveling with that wouldn't just die I could actually have some one to talk to well it turns out I'm better off on my own. " she said jumping down from the boulder turning her back to him continueing her walk.

the bird landed at her feet and switched back into the form of a man. "You don't get it do you? You have a chance to actually roam around, sure your running. Me there is no relating you've got it good compared to me. your trying to relate? I see it as bragging."

"I do not brag of my situation. We are both trapped in this game yes you may have it bad but so do I it's just different I was trying to show you some sort of kindness hoping you would show me some as well, but you elected to make me feel even worse. I know you hate that you were forced into this mess but do not take it out on me" she said she walked around him continueing on her way she turned briefly "just leave me alone go back to where ever the hell you came from. I do not want any of this I reject every single bit of it and I refuse to do as I have been ordered"

"You at least have the option to run, I do not. You of all people should understand the power of the gods, you have one that flows through you. I take a step out of line and disobey that is it I am gone with no where to go. Running seems like a damned luxury to my eyes so forgive me if I hold a bit of distaste in my words." The creature had been created for this line of slavery, no home no family. "I am here to serve, and that is it serve and eventually die."

"do not take your life out on me I did nothing to you I tried to show some kindness and you returned it by spitting in my face I do not want or need you to travel with me now leave me alone." she said coldly "at least you haven't had the so called luxury of getting close to some only to have them taken away from you. It is better not to of had as opposed to having it taken away." she said softly she moved onward, she did not want to be near him she hated the coldness he showed her she did not need it.

"It is not really a wonder at why you were the one chosen. You might as well be the Chaos god, you twist words, corrupt minds and the like. Whether you like it or not I'm going to be here. I didn't even take anything out on you I explain things and you take them personally. I'll stay as far away as my duties permit." His eyes seemingly glowing now as his body contorted back into his bird form and flew off.

She had never intentionally hurt anyone or done anything like this god of chaos does, why did he accuse her of being just like him. She would try to get along with him but she doubted it would have any success. She made camp once the sun went down. She took some of her supplies making a simple stew "come and eat with me I wish to speak with you" she knew he would hear her and she hoped he would listen.

He didn't see any reason he should be near her right now. She told him to go away and that's where he planned on staying. He was sitting up in a tree a good half mile away, his eyesight and hearing were right at the edge of his limits. He could hear but it was shallow, his eyes were able to see her but only her figure. He was content where he was, away from the god's child.

"look I am trying to comunicate with you and you are being a petty halfwit. I want to make peace I don't need or want more enemies, but I suppose something like you couldn't even begin to understand." She said softly. She finished cooking and nibbled at her food. She was growing tired of this nonsense she raised her hand and shot a bolt of energy past him to let him knows he was serious.

His arm outstretched catching the ball of energy in his hand and instantly teleporting next to her his hand extended a good inch from her ear blasting the energy into a nearby tree destroying it. "It isn't wise to insult the one helping protect you and believe me I completely understand. But You must understand that at this moment because of your attitude I see you as what you are and offspring of one of the gods I am bound to so I suggest that you just let me cool off. Yes I am being petty but you must understand I'm not someone who is used to holding his temper." He lowered his hand and sighed. why must he continue to put up this front, not being able to let anyone too close for fear of losing them the same as her, though he would never talk about this situation just yet. He hated the gods, and he had good reason.

"for what is worth I am sorry that you have no choice in this. I know we are not the same but I am sure we are not completely different either. I have been traveling alone for a while now though I know it is best since anyone I travel with seems to end up dead you are the only person that has no reason to be killed. It is strange to me you must understand this. I know you despise me but I'm not as bad as you may think I am much like you in that sense we are just misunderstood by one another. would you like some of my stew?" she said softly. She was trying to make a peace offering in hopes things wouldn't be so miserable.

"I would normally ask if you ere trying to kill me, but you don't have the power to do so." His attempt at a very weak joke, but his words completely coming out wrong. "I suppose it wouldn't hurt being we had to leave the cave." He was going to have to tr4avel out of his way to get their supplies during the night but he tried not to hold it against her. He really was stupid at time forgetting he could merely teleport things. He tasted the stew, and it was better then anything he could have offered. "you are aware that I can't always be at your side correct?" he asked, most of the time he would have to be out of site for a surprise attack to work on their foes.

"yes I figured as much but it will be nice to have some one to talk to when I make camp as apposed to only dreaming of such things when the nightmares do not come. I would like to apologize for my behavior earlier I should not have been so angry towards you. I should not have taken all my anger out on you it was just a lot of things just hit me all at once. I was hit in a lot of places that are kind of tender still. So I lost it and I took it out on you I'm sorry for that I feel this time away from people has left my manners buried in the dirt." she said softly she smiled a bit at his attempt at a joke. "no if I were going to kill you I'd do it very differently. I'm not the type to set a trap takes too much patience" she joked back.

"I did not much help either. Being close to the rich that were in the gods favor was not exactly the best when they felt I was their slave." He had hated that day when he slew someone that was in the gods favor. It was also the day he hated the god of chaos, and his kind. He prayed though it wasn't to any of the gods, that she would be different then her father. He learned never to displease the gods again, and became a soulless shell.

"we were just both doing what we felt was right however we were both wrong" she said softly she ate her stew and refilled her bowl eating some more "we have a great journey ahead of us perhaps I will show you a place that will at least make you think you are free it is beautiful it is a great place to take a rest and escape the order and it is a great place to be in general I have never seen anything like it before." she said softly. she smiled over at him. "don't you ever have any fun?" she asked curiously.

"I do not know what fun is. I have felt Happiness, once." he admitted softly. "No matter where I go I can't escape." It had been drilled into his head and it caused his nightmares to run constantly, especially that one. How he loathed the gods, even his thoughts weren't secret, the gods knew all. This was the main reason he wasn't anything but a demi god, his thoughts and hate for the gods held him back. He took a bite of her stew once again remaining silent as the gods scolded him within his mind.
