The Dark Forrest (GhettoxRuki)

The purple eared feline neko had just emerged from her cave like lair in the forest, and was headed towards the town. But she had gotten used to the fact that many of the people there stared at her strangely for she had cat ears, instead of human ears, a tail that seemed to have a mind of its own sometimes.

She was dressed in a purple outfit that seemed to bring out the purple highlights in her eyes, and different shades of purple that lurked within the strands of her long flowing hair. Her claw like nails were clutched around a staff that seemed to glow eerily and match the mood the young female seemed to be in.

Her eyes shifted slightly as if she heard a nose off to her left, she had just started to step on the rocky path that would lead stright to the town of mortals and though she often hated going there, it was often times necessary for it was only then she could earn her pay in one of the taverns as a waitress.

She thought to herself as her body tensed slightly. something or someone is here, but I do not know who it is. I suppose I will have to wait and see who might be lurking around at this time of night.

Kamijo woke in the early evening.Getting out of his elaborately decorated coffin,the blond Vampire immediately noticed that his blood lust was more powerful than usual.He made his way to one of the windows in his castle and looked out,deep in thought.Closing his icy blue eyes,Kamijo caught a whiff of rich blood. "That isn't human blood," he murmured.

He was dressed in leather pants,and a white ruffled dress shirt,as well as a Victorian-esque black jacket.His attire,along with his blond hair,that reached his back side made him look as though he'd stepped out of the 18th century,though he was far older than that.

Making his way into a dark forest,Kamijo could hear someone walking around on a rocky path.The more he walked,the closer the scent of that rich blood drew.Suddenly,the wind blew,letting him know precisely where the scent came from.

Kamijo stepped through a patch of bushes and spotted a young Neko.She had purple ears,and purple hair,and she was dressed in purple as well.It seemed that she was headed for the village where humans lived.The blond knew that it was risky for anyone who wasn't a human to enter the village,unless they worked there.

occ: hope you don't mind me adding in a guardian for the neko, thought I would just a small challenge in here to make it interesting.

Violet started to move forwards when she happened to glance down at her staff, and saw it pulsate with light, just before it transformed into her guardian, that of an icy blue oriental dragon. Its wise blue eyes glared at the neko. "There is danger afoot, especially now that it is night."

The neko growled at her guardian. "I so hate it when you do that, couldn't you give a warning when your going to transform in front of me. Its very distracting when I should be watching where I am going, and I should have been in the village hours ago, but you said..."

The eastern growled softly. "Do not presume to tell me what I should have let you do girl. I am a dragon and as your guardian it is my sworn duty to not allow you to fall into harms way. There is only way to keep you from doing so, and I believe this calls for drastic measures, something lurks in the shadows here that is not right. Therefore to make sure you don't get killed or worse I shall have to fly you to the village, within its walls you should be safe enough I think as long as you don't let your guard down."

The neko sighed at her old guardian she was right as always, and so the oriental slithered its coils around the young neko, and took flight over the path, but this was the part Violet hated the most, she had a terrible fear of flying, and would have preferred if her feet could have stayed on the ground.


Unfortunately that would not be the case for the dragon was not about to let her ward get hurt and so the dragon would be a formidable foe and harder to get rid of except for when the dragon was in its staff shape, then she could not guard the neko.

OOC:Nope,that's fine with me!

Kamijo watched as the Neko and her Guardian dragon had a conversation,and then as the dragon flew the Neko to the village.The blond caught the scent of the dragon's blood,it smelled ancient.Though he could not determine how old,he knew that the dragon must be a few hundred years older than him,if not more.

"It will be more difficult than I thought to get that Neko's blood," The blond murmured,steadily making his way towards the village.One thing he had determined just by watching the two was that the dragon could not protect the young Neko when in staff form.

Upon entering the village,Kamijo could hear faint murmuring around him.The blond guessed that not many Vampires came through the village.Regardless,he continued his search for the young Neko,catching her scent in the wind every now and then.

She must work in the village, Kamijo told himself.If that was the case,all he needed to do was wait for her to make her way to her play of employment.A delightful little chase which,hopefully,would end up working in his favor.

The dragon settled her down near the tavern, its eyes dared any of the humans to say anything to them. Violet slid out of the coils of the eastern. "I wish you really wouldn't do that, you know how I hate flying." The neko was annoyed an irriated at her guardian for this.

The dragon merely smiled. "It was for your own good, and you know you didn't inherit the shapeshifter ability from your family so they appointed me as your guardian, at least until they were slain by those blood drinkers. It is that one regret that I allowed myself back then to be caught by one of them. Who then managed to trap me in my staff form. That was very embarrassing, but I will not allow that to happen again a second time, for you are the last of the shapeshifters. I made it my duty when you released me from the staff to protect you from harm and I will do so with my very life."

Violet shook her head at the oriental dragon. "You know none of that was your fault. I've been able to shapeshift at least once then I might have been able to save them. Sides you know a cats curse lasts seven generations or so I've been told. Sides vampires are just not my type, and I am sure the ones that killed my family are long one so I don't have to worry about those cowardly blood drinkers. Besides at least I freed you from the staff form so you could roam again Frostwynd. At least you still get to protect one of the last persons who has shapeshifter blood in them."


She shrugged slightly, as the dragon slowly began to shrink but it did not take staff form, it merely shrunk its size, and curled around the neko's neck like necklace, it was often great amusement for them when she served the patrons in the tavern and they realized the necklace around the neko was alive. She walked into the tavern, and headed for the back area.

Kamijo listened to this conversation as well.So,Vampires were to blame for her parent's death,then.The blond paid close attention then as The Neko made her way to the tavern.He was caught off guard when the dragon coiled around the Neko's neck like a necklace.

The blond Vampire looked around,before stealthily making his way to the tavern.Once inside,the smoky,musty smell of the tavern hit him all at once.The noise,he didn't mind at all.The smell,however,was almost enough to make him want to leave.

Kamijo's icy blue eyes scanned the establishment for a place to sit.The blond knew that he didn't want to sit by some stranger who would try to pick up on him.He tossed his hair off his shoulder and walked over to sit at a table that was unoccupied.

How ever today, things ended up with the neko being in the back cooking the food rather then serving it to the patrons, which suited the the guardian dragon. It was Violets belief that the dragon had some convinced her boss to keep her in the kitchen.

Though it frustrated the poor neko to no end having been put in a place she had little experience in, but tried in vain to please the patrons that were there while another girl served and asked the questions that she normally would have done.

The dragon believed she had done her job all to well, something would snag thought the orriental dragon curled around the neko's neck. Though the food might have have had a different flavor the patrons of the tavern thought who ever was doing the food was a great cook and told the manager that. He smiled slightly sense he was the one that was doing the bar tending.
In the bar tenders mind he thought that such good reviews might place the neko permanently in the kitchen it seemed she knew what she was doing, but he did not know how very wrong he was.
It was at this point that one of the serving girls fell mysteriously ill, and he had to place Violet back out there serving the patrons.

This displeased the dragon on the girls neck but there was little she could do to stop this. Though the current path the neko was taking had her in the opposite direction of the vampire, but sooner or later their paths would cross the danger the guardian thought.

As soon as the food started to cook,Kamijo noticed that the musky odor that emanated from some of the patrons themselves disappeared.The Vampire's icy blue eyes closed as he took in the delicious scent of the food,a soft sigh escaping his lips.

Looking down,the blond ran one of his hands over the other,noticing that his hands were cold to the touch.He'd been too pre occupied in keeping up with where the Neko went to notice it before.Kamijo needed to heat his body back up.

No alcoholic drinks though.Can't stand them. He told himself.Like he'd done for many years,he would order a drink,and hold onto it,causing the heat to travel to the rest of his body as well.Smelling the scents of a few different hot beverages in the air,Kamijo soon decided on hot cider.

Violet soon walked in the direction of the vampire, completely focused on her job, but that allowed her mind to be completely blocked by mental suggestions, and so far she hadn't fallen ill to what ever had plagued the one waitress that was doing this circuit. Eventually arriving at his table she spoke softly. "What would you like to drink sir?" Of course this was a very innocent questions, and all the waitresses that were working the room were doing the same.

But none of them realized that a vampire was in the room so they had no reason to think their normal questions might be thought of as something else. But the dragon opened her eyes for a second or so when she felt the danger was very close, it seemed the danger was coming from this man the dragon thought. But she could not do anything without causing her wards job, and that she would not do, unless it warranted it.

Kamijo looked up at the young woman. "I'll have some hot cider,please." The blond answered,flashing a charming smile.The Vampire was very much aware of the dragons suspicions of him.He supposed it was just as well,though,as the young Neko had suffered misery at the hands of Vampires already.He was fairly certain that the dragon would make no move to warn the Neko about him,out of fear of causing her to lose her job.

The blond vampire was correct, the dragon did not warn her ward against him. Even as she write down what he wanted. Then headed off towards her boss were he kept all the drinks, and such. The other waitress filled in the spot where the neko had been to ask if he wanted anything else, while violet was off getting the man his drink.

Violet took orders from other patrons from around inside the building, while waiting for the mans drink. When it was finished being warmed up, she took it back to him and placed it on the table. Then walked away back to the circuit that she was doing on the other side of the building, taking menu orders, while the other girl went and got drinks. It was reversed roles on the other side where the blond vampire was sitting but they seemed to have done it for a long time and so none of them had messed up the entire time they were doing this.

Soon though the building began to empty as the people left for the night, and it slowly became close to closing time in the building, the neko was looking forward to leaving the village and heading back home, she knew though that the dragon would most likely transform, and fly back to the cave.

"No,that will be all,thank you." Kamijo replied when one of the waitresses asked him if he wanted anything more.The blond wrapped his hands around the hot glass,a soft sigh of relief escaping his lips.The Vampire was there until closing time,at which point he exited the building.Reading the Neko's thoughts,he discovered that the dragon would more than likely fly back to the cave.Perhaps he should follow them.

The neko having put everything away for the night in the tavern, then stepped outside. At that point the dragon slipped of her neck, and transformed into its true form, and coiled itself around her ward. "You wil have to endure another moment of flying my dear friend. But then we dragons are faster then any known and unknown creature, except of course those who are void walkers."

Then the dragon stared to fly away from the village, looking almost to be levating off the ground as she started to fly, but eastern's always had some sort of magical way in which they flew but no one had been able to figure out how it was done.

Eventually they arrived at a secluded spot that was heavily draped with foliage, the oriental slide past that, as the foliage slithered back in place allowing only the dragon and the neko access to their cave which was well guarded by the vegetation that was there. Once they were inside the dragon uncoiled herself from the neko, and lay blocking the entrance.

Violet smiled at her friend. "At least we are home, and safe here for the time being. I am going to fix us some of the left over dinner we had the other night, it shouldn't take more than a few minuites I think, and then you can tell me stories of your people." If it was one thing Violet loved by half it was the story telling.

Kamijo followed them to the cave.The blond hid when the Neko and dragon entered the cave,so that he could see precisely how they entered.His icy blue eyes looked around.It couldn't be determined weather or not anyone else could enter just by looking at the structure.Stepping closer,he moved the vegetation aside,and felt around for a switch or button.Kamijo could smell the Neko's blood,and he wanted it so bad.

There seemed to be no switch or button to allow entrance into the cave, but then what was blocking it, was the dragon herself, and that could be seen because every once in awhile a tell tale breath would rise the scaly hide. But there was a back entrance to the cave that was less guarded and only used for emergency purposes.

The neko soon brought dinner to her dragon friend, and it was then the orriental began to slowly tell the neko the stories she so wanted to here, staring at her friend in rapt attention. But having forgotten to place wards on the back entrance of the cave, which would be their undoing. But they weren't expecting anything to attack them from that area.

After coming to the realization that there was no switch or button,Kamijo stood up and walked around to the back of the cave,where he discovered a back entrance,which appeared to be less guarded.The blond disposed of what little there was preventing him from entering through the back entrance,and then proceeded into the cave.Closing his icy blue eyes,he could smell the Neko's blood as he approached her.

Frostwynd glanced at her ward, and was just about to speak when something caught her attention, the moon was full, and it was sitting right on the one year when shapeshifters like Violet had a rather painful transformation they could not control. "The moon is full Violet, I would be careful tonight, there is no telling if your shapeshifter blood will awaken tonight."

Just as the warning was delivered, there was a slight growl of pain that came from violet herself. "I think it just did Frostwynd, you'll have to move away from the entrance, tis the only way to cure the pain, through power of the moonlight." It was then the eastern moved once again lifting her coils, and allowing the neko passage, before she herself moved to follow her ward.

Furr sprouted all along her body contorting it as violet took on a feral form with purple shadows of fur. Her eyes glanced upwards at her friend. "Well at least the shapeshifter part of me woke up, now to see what I can do." There was almost an eerie glint in those cat eyes of hers. "Maybe I'll run into the leeches that killed my parents. If so I will happily rip out their throats." She still wanted to kill them so badly for taking away her family. But there was little chance that the vampires who had done it were still alive. k


Frostwynd sighed a bit at that keeping pace. Glancing back at the cave with a fanged smile, knowing that the vampire was still inside, and would most likely make his way out, and she had a feeling he would be able to tell that the neko had transformed. "Indeed, but I doubt they are still around the area. I am sure they have long been slain by vampire slayers. Vampires may live long lives, but like any creature they can be still be killed.

The same can be said for any living race Violet. You have the temper to match any, but you are young and there fore your hot headness will see you get killed. That is why no shapeshifter when they first transformed ever rushed out into battle. They hunted first their prey, and it is wiser to know thine enemy, but keep your friends closer. For it is often those who say they are your friend who turn out to be the enemy."
The oriental spoke from experience for long ago her own friends had turned against her back in her home land. But because she was concentrating on the danger from the cave, the eastern dragon never saw the dragon slayers.

She was hit with an arrow tipped with dragons bane, though it was posionus to western dragons, it only slowed her down to a degree as her blood leaked onto the ground. Violet turned and glanced back at her guardian.

"Frostwynd what happened to you?" Came the growled voice, but violet wasn't about to leave her old friend behind, especailly when the answer was whispered to her from the dragons mouth. A louder roar escaped violets throat. "They will pay with this. I know you said dragons bane doesn't effect you much, but you stay here, I am going to teach them a lesson, and they won't like the curse I'll give them." She took off at supernatural speeds, mentally invoking the powers that belonged to her.

I am the purple light
that the glows like a flame
Drawing enemies and friends
But in this light is life
My fight has just begun
I am Violet
The purple flame
that dances yonder
Though I wonder
why they attack
For they should ponder
the power of the purple light
For when I strike
the curse I will deliever
For no cats curse is the same
Behold the Violet flame
With those words mentally said in her head her body glowed with a purple light that was violets true power which coursed through her, and around her like a living heart beat. But was much more deadly when it was in action.

Kamijo listened to the dragon and neko converse,learning more about shape shifters in the process.The blond also heard and felt the young girl transform.Her scent,as well as her entire presence seemed different now.His heart all but stopped when the arrow hit the dragon.He had been too focused on watching the two of them that he hadn't realized there had been someone else there.The Vampire's icy blue eyes closed when he caught the scent of the dragon's blood.The moment the neko rushed out,Kamijo was torn between chasing her,and staying with her fallen guardian.After much consideration,the blond decided to stay with the dragon,at least until the neko returned.That being the case,the Vampire slowly approached the guardian,sitting next to her.

FrostWynd glanced over at the vampire that was sitting next to her, though injured the orriental dragon could still be a formidable foe, but she felt it wise to give a warning the blood sucker just in case he tried something. "I may be slow to react due to my injury but if you harm my ward, vampire you will not like what I will do to you." She had a feeling that the only reason he was here at all, was because of Violet.


Violet soon reached the dragon slayers, pouncing in the middle of them. "Hello boys, bet you didn't think you would meet a creature like me, while you hurt my guardian. For harming a good dragon I think you will all pay with several different curses from my claws. You see a curse from a cat who is the seventh generation of a seventh generation can deliever curses that will last for seven generations of seven generations of familes. I think the first one of you will be cursed to be a lycan. Then maybe you will know how it feels to be hunted." Her claws were out, wickled curved to hurt flesh, but they were glowing with her magic, and the curses that were injected into each razor sharp tip.

Kamijo watched the dragon,listening to her words. "I won't harm her," the blond told her.Then,a flash of memory from the night he'd been turned.His sire had killed a young couple,who possessed feline qualities.He had been made to watch in horror as he slaughtered them. "What if I told you that I have information which your ward would find useful?" he then asked.

FrostWynd narrowed her eyes slightly. Rather suspicious with what he seemed to be saying to her. "What sort of information?" Oh she knew that there were good vampires out there who wouldn't harm people no matter how terribly thirsty they might be when hunting for their prey. But then there were others who didn't care who they hurt when they drained their prey completly dry.

While she was waiting for an answer, the dragoness smelled blood scent on the air as Violet went to work cursing the dragon slayers, but there was one where violet was not so lucky, and had not been able to curse him right away before he managed to cut into her, causing her blood scent to rise into the air.
The dragoness growled exposing her fangs, standing up, she started to move with speed that would have been alot faster if for the fact that she was still bleeding from her wound that the dragon slayers had given her. Her ward had been hurt, and the dragons ire was roaring to life.

"I know who killed your wards parents," Kamijo commented.The Vampire was also able to smell the scent of the neko's blood rising in the air.Once the dragon exited the cave,he followed her out.It was then that he realized that in order for the young neko to get justice,he would have to find his sire,and possibly help her kill him.It didn't bother him nearly as much as he'd expected it too,though.The blond saw him as nothing more than a murderer. "I'll help you,I still have something very important to tell you,and her." he said.

Frostwynd inclined her head slightly in thought. "That is very interesting indeed. Perhaps after I have seen to that blasted dragon slayer who has drawn first blood on my ward. The others have run away like the cowards they are. Which is well enough. One should never invoke the dragon rage."
Finally reaching the clearing where Violet had been harmed the dragoness began to plan her attack, though she'd not be fast enough to take down the slayer.

The cold wind from the north might chill him enough to slow him down, as Violet circled him looking for a way in to curse the fool. Thinking she still had the upper paw in this matter. But it was not so, and so with a few words issued in the draconian language. A terrible cold north wind blew into the clearing, it did not bother violet or the dragon.

But the human was shivering from the onslaught of the sudden drop of temperature when it had been pleasantly warm, now it was downright cold.

Violet wasn't aware that her wound from the dragon slayer was already healing, but she smell the blood of her guardian, which was still dripping fresh, and growled exposing her fangs at the now shivering mortal. "I think your luck just turned from good to worse. Perhaps seven years worth of bad luck should be your curse, after all it will begin when a black cat crossess your path. " Then she struck with her left paw drawing five bloody lines on the human. From the cold the blood insantly froze. But he had been marked with a very terrible curse.

Though the human was not about to let violet have the last word in this, he moved in to attack again, but he was unaware that the dragon who had used her powers against him, had some one else following her.

Kamijo nodded.The smell of the Neko's blood grew stronger as he and the dragon came closer to her.Then,he picked up the scent of something sinister.Another arrow came out of the clearing,headed for the oriental dragon.The Vampire growled softly,catching the arrow. "There's another dragon hunter.I'll take care of him." he murmured,before making his way into the bushes.A sickening crack could be heard,the blond having snapped the hunters neck.

FrostWynd heard the sickening crack, but was glad that the dragon slayer was no more. She disliked them almost as much as other slayers that hunted down shapeshifters. And knowing that her ward would be vulnerable in feral form made it that much worse. "At least that one can no more kill dragons." Though she had yet to make herself known in the clearing the female dragon did not.

It wasn't her fight though she had already helped out by making the human cold, but if he drew blood a second time on her ward, the dragon knew that she would not be able to hold back a second time and would most likely appear in the clearing. Though she had no way to sneakily attack from behind like most creatures were able to.
