The Dark Forrest (GhettoxRuki)

Kamijo's eyes flashed icy blue, "Immortality has it's limits,Kaoru.Even for us." the blond commented.He knew full well he could be killed,and he did everything in his power to avoid it.Feeling a presence behind him suddenly,Kamijo turned around to see that Kaoru now stood behind him. "You aren't death.You are too much of a coward.The fact that you are thinking of using me as a shield tells me that much."

Kaoru's eyes darkened,and he held Kamijo's body in front of his own. "It is not cowardice.If one Vampire is going to be eliminated,why not just eliminate two,and rid the world of two 'monsters'?" the dark haired man questioned.In truth,he though Kamijo might have the potential to be more powerful than him. "Go ahead,and try your magic." he then said to Violet.

Violet only smiled revealing her saber like fangs. "I don't have to, for you see the sun rises. I suggest you let him go. It is cowardly for a vampire especailly one as old as you to hide behind a shield of a much younger vampire. There in lies your weakness you are afraid. You have revealed that which you should have hid. For an enemy will always seek a weakness, and I have found yours. Though I doubt in the morning of the rays of sunlight I will have to work anything.

For the ring that would grant you to walk in the sunlight is nothing without its amythest, and that was parted from it some time ago. I heard the amythest lay in the east." Though she had her shields up in her mind keep the old vampire out, she could lie with the best of them. And knew that information was quite false, though the old vampire wouldn't know that. And if he was greedy and power hungry as she thought he was. Well then he might go off in search of a false lead.

FrostWynd said nothing to this false information giving it some credence in the fact that she suppposed in her mind that it was possible for the ring to be burried with a fake amythest. It would be just like the fairy to separate the two things so that evil could not win.

Though she was now much older the dragoness allowed a temporary loss of her shield so that the story would ring true when in fact it was not.

Kamijo bared his fangs as he struggle against Kaoru's grasp.The blond had never seen his sire show fear,and in a way,it made him feel more powerful.Of course,he knew what Violet was saying was false,but it was very quick thinking on her part,and she made it sound believable.After a couple minutes,the younger Vampire managed to get away from Kaoru,returning to Violet's side.

Not knowing the shape shifters words were false,Kaoru believed her. "You may think you have won,but once I return with that amethyst,it will be all over for you." the dark haired man said,before vanishing.

Violet sighed softly. "We don't have much time left. We have to get rid of that thing before your sire figures out I told him a false lead. There is really only one way to do that, and it involves summoning the fairy who cursed that thing. Though there is another alternative to doing that, and one I don't relish journeying into. I've never been there, but my guardian knows of that which I speak of."

Frostwynd inclined her head slightly. "But it would be wise to speak of this inside the vampires liar, for we have no idea if that sire of yours has posted spies just in case violet told him a false lead. So I think to assume that we will have very little time in getting rid of it. He will find an amethyst I am sure, but not the one that will work with it. "

The guardian didn't feel very comfortable discussing this outside mainly because she figured clawfang would try something, and even if he couldn't. He would be listening and if he found out that the young shapeshifter had pulled a big one on the old vampire. Well she had no doubt he would race straight to that ancient old blood sucker and tell him that he had in fact been had. Even if that was not the case, most older evil vampires were not without their spies.

Kamijo nodded, "Yes,it isn't safe to speak about such things out here." the blond agreed,leading them up the steps to his castle. "I have guards as well,so we are not completely unguarded." While he wasn't as old as some Vampires,he knew what he needed to know in order to survive,and keep himself as well as others safe.

Meanwhile,Kaoru was searching for an Amethyst.Of course,there were countless in existence.The one he wanted,however,would have a strong power emanating from it.The dark haired older Vampire had guards with him.They were a couple hundred years old,but very powerful.

Violet inclined her head slightly as they followed him up the castle steps. "Yes and that can always be a good thing. Although now that I think of it there is another third alternative in how to get rid of that ring. Though it involves a portal to a feline realm in the heavens. And once there your sire can't enter its walls at all."

Frostwynd knew of the very place the young shapeshifter spoke of and smiled faintly though she was not about to reveal the name of the place. For her senses kept ever on alert just in case there were a few spies around. But luckily clawfang was no where around them after the attack violet had given him.
Her eyes glowed eerily for a second thinking that the third alternative was better then heading to the first too, because even old powerful vampires could get to places like those. But there was one place the dragoness knew that had been over looked and that was the sun itself. No vampire could set their feet on its hot flaming surface for they would surely burn. Only the guardian of fire, and the guardian of the sun had ever been able to trass pass on that hot surface without being killed.

Kamijo then lead them into the living room,which was elegantly decorated with it's exquisite french rugs and doors,as well as various paintings and porcelain pots. "Please make yourselves at home," the blond said as he walked over to the couch and sat down. "A third alternative?" he questioned.From what Violet said,it must have so much good magic that it would be impenetrable to Kaoru,and maybe any other vampire for that matter.

It wasn't long before Kaoru found an Amethyst. "Keep searching for more," the older vampire told his guards.There was no telling how many were in one particular spot,and how many of those,if any had the power he wanted.

Violet inclined her head and settled herself near her guardian. "Yes, the cats realm. It is where the mother of all felines rules. Bastet herself the ancient Egyptian goddess. Though we cats prefer to just call her Bast its much easier to speak. No evil vampire can get past her wall of good deeds. No evil thing may enter therin if they wish harm to all the shapeshifters, cats there.

And there is one last thing, there is always the sun itself, no vampire can step foot on the burning surface of the sun, but I know of others that can, catclaw is one such, and the guardian of the sun is another.

But in order to get to the feline realm I would have to create a portal and thats really very easy to do, that is generally where I go when I get tired of hunting around the forrest."

Frostwynd remained very silent about this whole thing. "At least Violet his sire will never find the amythest he searches for in the east sense it was never taken out of the ring to begin with. But still I would feel safter if we went to the cats realm right away. There is no telling how soon that evil vampire will grow tired in the search for something that will turn out to not be fruitful."

"Oh,I see." Kamijo said.The blond had heard legends of Bastet,and other tales of Ancient Egypt,but was uncertain if they were actually true. "I think the odds are in our favor.Frostwynd is right.Kaoru gets impatient rather quickly,and I am almost certain that he will come looking for us here." he added.

After several minutes of his guards finding nothing,Kaoru began to get annoyed. "I think that shape shifter sent us on a wild goose chase!" the dark haired man hissed as he looked to the other vampires. "She has the audacity to lie,so we're just going to have to force the truth out of her."

Violet inclined her head slightly. "Then it would be best if we went to the cats realm. I am sure that when your sire realizes I have led him on a goose chase, he will want to get the truth out of me. And there is no way I will allow that to happen. For myself I think going to a realm that he cannot enter into would be a good way to stop him for awhile. In fact I think I will go there now. For if we are not here when he comes calling then that will surely piss him off in the end."

Without hesitation the shapeshifter opened the portal to the cats realm, and made her way directly towards its shimmering surface. "I have no wish to be caught by him, and then injured in anyway for not revealing the truth. I am well aware of what evil vampires are capable of especailly one like him."

FrostWynd rose and followed the young shapeshifter. "But of course Violet, but once we get there how are we going to explain the pressence of the ring that the fairy cursed. I know that will be nullified in the realm of the felines while it is there, and evil will not be able to sense its presence there for as long as we stay there. Though at some point one of us will have to leave that area and I think then that the old vampire will pounce once we leave the safty confines of basts realm."

Kamijo stepped through the portal behind FrostWynd and Violet. "Perhaps we should explain the situation to Bastet." the blond suggested as they walked.It was obvious that he was alright given the fact that he'd been able to get into the feline realm,but Kamijo couldn't help but be cautious. "I don't know how many dealings she's had with Vampires,but surely she knows how dangerous we...can be." he added slowly.

"We're going to Kamijo's castle to confront that shape shifter," Kaoru said, "Drop those useless trinkets." the dark haired man then added as they left the area.

Violet smiled faintly as she walked in the safety of the realm behind the large pristine white shimmering brick like walls that protected all the cats that lived there. "Yes, Bast has had dealings with vampires before, but usually only good ones. The evil ones tend to stay away from the powerful goddess fearing that should they attack one of us, that her wrath will come down upon them like sharpened stakes. Your sire has already tempted her wrath by killing my parents.

She will be well aware of the situation, goddessess know everything. Still I suppose we should go and pay her a visit at least while we are here. Try and see if your fangs come out. I think you will be surprised when they do not show. If you sire managed to get past the walls of this realm, and came here, he would find that he would have no fangs, and none of his vampiric superiority to lord over us cats.

You see a long time we shapeshifters had a war with the vampires, but that war was caused by an evil sister goddess named zorarath. To this day there will always be bad blood between vampires and shapeshifters. More so now that my parents are dead. Us demonic hybrid were guarding something from all evil beings, though it was not the vampire ring.
It was something else entirely."

The demonic shapeshifter waved to several felines as she passed them by heading past the library were winged stone lions guarded the entrance way, and to a path that seemed out of a place for though there was a sign that said this way to Bastets temple.
The path was lined with animal gods or goddessess that had not been seen in some time.
And there others that were newly added that had yet to be known in the world.
Though they were statues at best it almost gave one the eerie feeling of being watched.

FrostWynd remained silent not at all worried that the evil they had left behind would try and come after them. But then she knew that if he wanted the ring terribly bad that he would most likely set foot outside of the walls of the cats realm. For he would find the gates closed to one such as he. Until she had to speak. "Every cat and shapeshifter that is here, is well aware of what vampires can be capable of. They have all fought them at one time or another, even the elder of the shapeshifters has faced many down herself. They would like nothing better than to kill the old female, but cannot tresspass into the cold north where she lives. For even they fear spotty, and the war her death would cause, for all vampires then would be hunted until none would be left." The dragoness spoke a very cold truth.

Kamijo listened when Violet spoke,surprised to know about the war of the Vampires and shape shifters,as well as the fact that his fangs would not show in this realm.Moreover,the blond had no idea there was an evil Goddess. "I never knew about such a war." he said.From all this new information,he started to think of things that could possibly happen.

"The other item you were guarding,does it have the ability to counteract the effects of Vampirism?" Kamijo then asked.If so,The evil Vampires of the world could already be planning their next move.If such a thing were to already be taking place,the blond was certain that Kaoru was at the helm. "I think that Kaoru may have ulterior motives.There may be a good chance that he is collecting these items for Zorarath."

They arrived at Kamijo's castle,and Kaoru jumped over the moat,landing right in front of the gate.The dark haired man heard his guards landing behind him as they too jumped over the moat. "We will confront that shape shifter,and seize the ring." he told them. "We will spill their wretched blood in the name of Zorarath!"

Violet smiled faintly. "No, it wasn't that sort of object to begin with. And only clawfang would be interested in it because only dark and evil shapeshifters can use it. Yes, most vampires don't talk about it because both sides lost lives on that war, and even one turned traitor against them. Just we had one of ours turn traitor against us.

But that was long ago when the dinosaurs ruled the earth along side with the dragons. But those times have long sense passed. I do not know what zora would want with a vampire ring. But for certain the only thing I do know that zora fully wants is more wars and blood shed, she feeds upon the chaotic energy and blood. It makes her very strong, and she is always hungry for more."

She came to a stop in front of a winged lioness statue, that had eerie colors, the body was tawny gold, but the wings, were mismatched colors, one was red, and the other white. That color scheme seemed to flow over the creatures eyes, an claws. "That is the satue of zorarath, and though she cannot enter into this realm, she would like nothing better than to destroy her own sisters childern. Never mind that she also played a part in our creation.
We have her lions warrior strength, and fighting ability. But that is all we gained from zorarath. The rest we gained from bast.

How ever I know zora can see into this world from time to time with this stautue so I shall send her a message. I have a feeling she will be telling that sire of yours that we are no longer there."

Then she turned her gaze to the winged lioness statue, that seemed to radiate malice, and chaotic energy. "I know you can hear me zora. You will never win, so give up fighting against bast, and all the others. Your hunger will be your downfall. Because we out number your armies more than you will ever know or can count."

Then she moved away from the statue, and headed towards a towering pyramid that glowed like polished gold, and there were symbols of all kinds of cat like creatures on the outer edges. "This is the temple that houses Bast."

Zorarath appeared on top of the roof her mismatched red an white eyes glowed errily in the smi darkness, and she glanced downwards, the evil vampire and his guards. " Cease, for they are not within the castle, they are in the realm in which my sister resides, and none of us can get past her walls. The ring is nullified, and so will any vampire who goes over the wall of good deeds. For now there are other evil artifacts to obtain, and when they have all been collected together they will make a very powerful force indeed. And then I will collect the rest of the remaining souls for my freeddom from that cursed god of the underworld anubis." The winged lioness was collecting those evil artifacts so that she could empower her army in a bloody war to obtain souls for her freedom. This Bast would very soon find out.

"It makes perfect sense to me that I was not aware of the war.Many Vampires are very prideful creatures,and will not easily admit defeat,if ever they do." Kamijo said.It was a part of his history,and he wanted to know.The blond followed Violet to the statue of Zorarath,watching as the young shape shifter sent the evil goddess a message. "So it is other artifacts that she is after,then." he then added.It struck Kamijo as very peculiar that Kaoru would aid Zorarath,as opposed to following his own agenda.But then,the older Vampire never had any problem with doing whatever necessary to achieve his goals.

Hearing Zorarath's voice,Kaoru immediately knelt,hearing his guards doing the same.Then,the dark haired Vampire looked up at her. "We will cease our search here then." he said. "Which artifact would you like us to go in search of next,Goddess?" he then asked.

Violet soon stood before the temple of bast, and though it looked as if there was no door, she lifted her hand on the edge of the side of the temple, and transformed her hand into a paw, for while in the realm of the cats she had returned to her neko form.

When her paw touched what looked like to be an imprint of a large cats paw, the door suddenly appeared as it slid back, becoking them towards the cat goddessess lair. "Now we have only to go within and speak to bast."

Then she slowly entered into the temple, close behind her came frostwynd her guardain, who would not be left out for this, as much as she hated to be near the goddess of all felines. She knew that it was necessairy for her ward to speak with Bast. Then it suddenly occured to Violet why the old vampire might be helping zora out. It was an angle she had not thought of before.

"There could be something we are over looking, though it is almost to simple to be obvious, and under our noses the whole time. It just suddenly occured to me, that the reason your sire is helping zora is because she promised him something that would gain him more power. She the only other animal goddess besides Bast, who knows where the ambrosia is. Its the only thing that could make him more powerful and then he would be a god among vampires.

Or if he marries zorarath though first she must gain a thousand souls in order to be free of anubis, but once free she could be fair game to any power hungry vampire, and that could also be his other motive for helping her out."
But when violet had finished speaking a voice spoke from out of the shadows as the interior of the temple began to lighten slowly, and laying comfortablely on silken pillows, was a large black panther.

In fact it could have been said that this was a gigantic looking feline for when standing she towared over even the megafelines that had once been present in prehistoric times.
Her golden eyes glowed at the three people before her.
"I see you come to tell me something of important news. I will take a guess and say that it has something to with my sister, and the vampire who sired you? Or perhaps it has something to do with the cursed vampire ring that you brought into realm which has nullified its powers to some degree."

Zorarath smiled slightly revealing fangs. "Please rise, you know I quite dislike it when people kneel before me, it ruins my evil image. The artifact we shall now go after is one that an evil dark golden dragon has possession of. Ever heard of the dragon Lord amulet? It is rumored that who ever possessed the amulet will become lord of the dragons. There were only ever too made, one was for the dark dragons. The other was made for the dragons who serve the light.

I am only interested in the one that was made for the dark dragons, with that in our aresnal we will have the power to call upon the dark dragons any time we wish. The other artifact clawfang is claiming while violet is away from her cave. It is the dark shapeshifter crystal. But only shapeshifters can operate it. It will turn any being into a shapeshifter as long as they place their hand on its crystaline surface, giving them much power.

The last artifact is of course the vampire ring. But I think I can forge a new one, that will be resistant to curses, for after all who needs a ring that will turn a vampire into a mortal for 2 hours of its time, while one half is spent throwing up the blood it took the night before, and the same when it is turned back to its orginal state. You have already collected quite a good deal of evil artifacts, but those were the last three that are needed to complete the destruction that will soon come." "You have only to find a gem that will hold enough power to allow you to walk in the sunlight." Though zora knew there was a reason the old vampire was helping out. There had been a promise made of sorts. "Oh and one last thing, you will not kill Violet, or any others that are with her in my name. Those three have their own destiny to fillfull, but it will be far away from this world."

"That's his goal then,to become a god among Vampires." Kamijo said thoughtfully.It made perfect sense.The blond didn't even want to think about what would happen if Kaoru achieved that goal.The older Vampire would only end up creating power hungry armies who would shed the blood of innocents.He watched as Violet unsealed the passage that went to Bastet's temple.Kamijo looked at Bastet as she began to speak. "All of the above,actually.We suspect that Kaoru wants to become a God among Vampires by helping Zorarath collect evil artifacts."

Kaoru rose to his feet, "I have heard a few details about the amulet,but I didn't know it's exact function." the dark haired man said. "I will not kill Violet or those with her.What about the dragon that possesses the amulet,am I to kill him?" he then asked.He had to admit that he was surprised that Zorarath didn't want him killing Violet and her companions,but it was an order which he did not intend on disobeying.

Bast inclined her head. "There is only one thing which will stop zora and get rid of her forever, but it has been lost in the valley of legends for a long time, and may have been moved. The only other thing I can think of is the good shapeshifter crystal, with that in your hands violet you could make yourself an army that the vampire could not control.

How ever clawfang has already got the dark crystal in his hands, and even now as I speak is delivering it to zorarath. Unfornately you three have a destiny to fillfill that does not involve stopping zorarath and your sire. I am afraid even with all my powerful, armies I would never be able to defeat my sister for it is not yet time of the great battle, in which I will die.
This world has been decreed by human and animal gods and goddessees alike that they must have a great time of evl inflicked upon the world so that only the faithful remain. You understand it is a accoplyspe of a sort. The one who made mortals believes they will feel his hand stretched out in anger, and today zora and her loyalists are that tool in which darkness will over take this one world.

I have learned that for now should you return he won't kill you, for the prophecy of violet must come to pass, and that time grows short, though the light will of course be forced to hide for a time. It is necessary to weed out those who no longer keep the faith as it were. And yes many innocents will die, I can do nothing for my paws are tied behind my backs.

I can send you on quests to obtain your own magical weapons, but that is all I can do, the rest must be up to you. Though I will say this, if the pure shapeshifter crystal and all its pieces found, then you will have to rebuild that towering crystal, and in that will gain you power enough. You see the darkness only has small amount remaining of their dark crystal, and so it will not be as powerful as a complete crystal that is pure. I know of the locations though they themselves will take you deep. As for you vampire, I could take you to the ambrosia first before my sister takes your sire, at least then you'd be powerful enough to get rid of him yourself. But I leave that option to you for you to decide."

Zorarath smiled slightly. "No, the dragon himself will not be killed, you just have to offer him a virgin sacrifice, and he will trade the amulet to you. He has a twin and if we kill his dark brother, well then you'd have a terrible fight on your hands. The dark dragons are quite necessary for part of my battle plans. Besides the dark brother is also a dragon smith from time to time, and he is an asset to have in a battle." "Though there will be others to kill I am sure, because there are always travelers passing the mountains of flameria, and there is a village that dwells in the forrest of humans so any one of them might have a virgin if the dark golden dragon hasn't depleted the village of their sources."

Then clawfang appeared, and handed zorarath the dark crystal. "Here is the shapeshifter crystal zorarath. Luckily the traps that were in the cave were almost none existent sense the creature that is suppose to guard it, is else where at the moment."

A destiny that does not involve stopping Zorarath and Kaoru.That statement in itself had Kamijo curious as to what that destiny was.The apocalypse of which she spoke was bound to happen in one form or another.There had always been talk of religious apocalypses,or so it seemed. "May I ask what that destiny involves?" the blond asked curiously.He couldn't think of what it could be. "Please take me to the Ambrosia.It is high time that the world be rid of Kaoru,and I am prepared to do everything in my power to help make sure that he is destroyed."

Kaoru smiled, "A good old virgin sacrifice." the dark haired man commented.It had been quite awhile since he'd seen one of those. "I'll trade virgin for the amulet,then." he added.It was always fun to watch the women deny their virgin status,only to have him be able to sense and smell it.

Bast smiled softly at that. "Now that I cannot tell you, but the dragon knows of which I speak for propchies are always told as stories are they not my old dragon friend? And yes I will take you now to the ambrosia. But my sister will no doubt learn of this, for even here in the cats realm there are spies."

She opened a silver looking portal, and stepped through it, not looking behind her to see if the others had followed or not. For Bast alone knew the destiny that would change violets life and those around her. For it was one where a vampire fell in love with the enemy, and that enemy being violet herself.


Zorarath had no idea that Bast was about to change the rules yet again on her. But such was life in her world, until a lioness shouldered her way through the ranks of the evil vampires with a deep growling sound. The scent that wafted off the lioness could only come from one place, a place where thousands of cats lived. But zora had her spies in basts realm.

The lioness growled to attract the attention of zorarath, and began to speak.
"You are not aware zorarath, but Bast has changed the rules, yet again. This time she leads the vampire to the ambrosia, in the hopes of defeating you first by taking out the others before they gain more power."

Zorarath growled slightly. "Then we must run against my sister, and pray that it is not to late in getting to the ambrosia before her side does. I will not allow my sister to win if I can." There was a battle glint in her eyes. "My sister will regret going against me if thats the last thing she ever does in this lifetime. For soon the great battle between her and I must comence. Then we must do the same, and gain the dragon lord amulet later on." If nothing else bast had just provided a great challenge for zorarath. But unfornately Bast did not have wings so could not reach the cliffs were plentiful ambrosia grew, how ever zora did, and knew she could get there quicker then Bast.

"I guess we'll know in due time,then." Kamijo commented as he followed Bast down to the silver portal,before stepping through it.While they walked,the blond couldn't help but wonder about the details of that destiny.

Kaoru listened as the lioness and Zorarath exchanged words.It was no surprise to the dark haired man that Kamijo and the others were on their way to the Ambrosia.The blond had always been a vigilant doer of good. "I'll get to work on retrieving the amulet,then." he said.

Zorarath smiled darkly as she flexed her wings. "Ah but I will need help in retriving the amrbosia before my sister does. I do not have hands capeble of carring the stuff back. So who will go with me?" The lioness who had delivered the message melted back into the shadows, and disappeared receving new orders perhaps from the winged lioness. No one really knew except for zora herself.


Bast stepped out of the portal into a place that looked surral, for the sky itself was colored in a pinkish hue as if it was right before the dawn. High cliffs towered high above them delving the valley into pools of dark shadows, where dark greenry grew.

Frostwynd knew what Bast had spoken off for she herself knew the story quite well. though she would not reveal it until Violet had made her move. "I suppose this is where the fruit grows Bast, and I bet the best stuff grows at the top of those mighty cliffs. Looks like you will be climbing them. Though I suspect for you it is a test of sorts. I have heard for those who go after the ambrosia they are tested in minor things."

Bast smiled slightly at the guardian dragons words. "A test of sorts, his is minor sense I brought him here. His is the test of strength and endurance. Those cliffs have defeated many in their reach for the ambrosia. I hope that it does not happen this time. But I have a feeling that our time will be rather limited for zora will no dount move to counter act against me, with her it will be rather soon. forantely if she brings the other, and they both gain the amrbosia they cannot attack each other here, for this place is neutral."

Violet how ever remained silent during this entire converation, for she had little to say in the words of her goddess, or her dragon friend. But she knew the journey alone to the amrosia would have to be Kamijo.

"Who do you want to go with you?" Kaoru asked. "I could have my guards retrieve the amulet,and I could go with you,or do you have something in mind?"

Kamijo listened to the conversation, "It sounds like a great challenge,but I don't intend to fail,nor do I intend to give up." the blond said.He intended to be the first,and hopefully only one to obtain the Ambrosia,but if that was not the case,the fact that they would not be able to attack each other was definitely a good thing.

Zorarath smiled softly. her eyes glinting errily in the darkness. "If you still wish to become one of my kind, then I would think it would be impertative for you to come. And send your guards to retrieve the amulet. But we must make our move soon, for if we do not. Then others will have won, and our cause will have been lost before it has ever begun."


Violet turned her gaze upon Kamijo. "And if you both get it, you will be evenly matched in powers at least. The good thing is no one can attack each other here in this realm.
