"I was thinking the same thing to be honest with you." he said softly as she wrote down her cell number. "How about I call you later, like around 8 o'clock or something?" he asked as he took the number she had written down. she was right, a party wasn't good for slow going, and he said it himself he wasn't much a party goer himself, but he did want to at least talk her, get to knew her better. Judging from what she already told him, she'd had guys that were real sleeve balls at best, and he didn't want to be one of those guys.

He was right she'd dated every type of scum of the earth. She'd had a taste of it all and she wasn't going to let it happen to her again. She kissed him softly on the cheek and started walking back up towards the school to go to her dorm. it was hard not to move fast with him he was perfect to her. too perfect almost to be true so she would push him away to force the pace slower.

Hunter sighed some as she walked away after she kissed his cheek, it wasn't a yes, but it wasn't a no either. rubbing the bridge if his eyes softly with one hand he leaned back in his chair more. He really was starting to like, and he truly respected her, so they would go as slow as she wanted them to go. then with a soft chuckle he looked at the slip of paper that held her number and quickly saved it to his cell phone before it could even start to slip his mind. He stayed at the coffee shop a bit longer, finishing his coffee slowly before he too returned to his dorm room to study up for the first two classes he had lined up early that afternoon.

It was a long day for him, or rather, it felt like it. sitting first at his desk in his room then in the class room. Silently, as the professors spoke, he read the first chapters of the text books, listing to what the professors had to say and even recording the lesson on a small tape recorder he brought to class so he didn't have to take notes in class. By the time 8:00 pm rolled around he was laying back in bed, with his cell phone held up in front of him. he brought up Alex's number and had his thumb hovering over the send button, it took him a minute to settle his nerves before he pounded to little green button and bring the phone to his ear.

Alex heard her phone ring she had gotten out of class a little bit ago so she was back at her dorm. she was reading she answered the phone "hello" she said not recognizing the number yet but figured it was him. She'd been day dreaming about him today a bit durring class about the previous night and the many kisses they'd shared.

He couldn't help but smiles some as she answers. "Hey beautiful." he said in reply, remembering how she reacted earlier that morning when they met outside the book store. "How ya doing?" he asked, he wanted to say other things as well, but figured he'd ease up a bit, she wanted to go slow, have a real relationship most likely, he also didn't know what sort of mood she'd be in after her first day of class, so he was playing it safe letting her set the tone.

She blushed and bit her lip hearing the way he greeted her "my class was long and boring for the most part what do you expect for the first day of psychology. All he basically covered was the intro to it and why most people take that class I hope it gets more interesting soon. but now I'm just relaxing in the dorm" she said softly she looked down a bit putting her book away "how are you?" she asked softly.

"I'm doing alright, Alex." he said, stretching out some as he spoke. "been a boring day for me as well. Almost the same deal with the professors in my two classes." he added, sitting up in bed. there was more he had wanted to say, like he had been thinking of her a lot of the day, but felt that was moving too fast for things to go steady or smoothly, he he had held his tongue for now.

She smiled a bit "well want to go ice sledding? that could be a bit fun." she suggested. She wanted to tell him she couldn't stop thinking about that first date but she was too shy she was afraid he might take it the wrong way or something. She wanted him to stick around he was special to her he was so different than the others she'd dated. She wanted to kiss and hold him again but she was afraid to.

Hunter chuckled. ice sledding? in the middle of the start of fall? "As fun as that sounds, Alex, but unless you can make a blizzard appear overnight, I think its bit early in the year for that." he said with a slight laugh. "but when winter rolls around, yeah, that would be nice." he said, still laughing a bit, but he had to admit, it was kinda a funny way break tension.

"no you silly you buy the big cubes of ice and put a towel over it and you ride it down the hill its supposed to be done when there isn't snow." she said laughing at him she smiled. She wanted to go do something with him she figured that would be a good activity for them while they are taking it slow. She had to be careful they weren't official yet they were just kind of testing the waters a bit.

"Oh I see." he said laughing, "well that would sure give a whole new meaning to the words 'cold ass' but funny as hell." he added, thinking for a moment before he came up with an idea. "Say Alex, how about this coming up Friday or Saturday we do dinner and a movie again. this time I'll cook, sound cool?" he asked.

"alright I'd like that. But meet me at the park in about an hour I'll have the ice and towels it will be fun I promise. I'm sorry though for how I left earlier today...its just..." she stopped for a long moment "you make me feel things things that some of the other men I have been with have stirred in me but they didn't treat me very well and I'm afraid" she said softly. "I'm afraid that the one I find so perfect may not be"

"Hey, don't worry about it, I understand." he said softly, he truly did understand, and was slightly shocked by what she said. she found him nearly perfect. "but Alex, I'm not perfect, At least I don't think I am. " he explained. "I mean, I busted a former teammate's lip cause he was talking about wanting screwing my sister." he told her, granted he was defending his sisters honor. "But yeah, I'll see ya in about an hour."

"then you have a sense of respect and are protective of those who are dear there is no wrong in that" she said softly she hung up and headed out to the store to get the ice she had the towels with her and went to the park sitting under a tree waiting for him to come she liked spending time with him but part of her said to push him away for her own protection.

Hunter arrived a bit late, not much, just by few minutes. mostly cause he had to do a bit of looking to find her. but when he did, he smiled some. "hey, Alex." he said as he came up to her. when he saw the bags of ice, he chuckled some. "well this should be a cool evening, literally." he said as he laughed some.

she pulled out the two large cubes she carried hers to the hill laying a towel over it and she layed her belly on it and slid down smirking up at him "come on your turn" she said smiling she was happy to be close to him again. it felt nice he was so kind to her she was growing feelings for him.

"oh man this is going to be so cold." he said to himself as he carried the ice and laid down the towel over block of ice. "here goes nothing" he said as he laid down on the towel and pushed off, sliding down the hill. half way down he had to laugh some, it was like sledding and while cold, it was kinda fun. "Wow. that fun." he chuckled as she slowly slid closer to her.

As he slid closer towards her she figured he would stopp but she underestimated he knocked her down she took him with her landing on top of him she looked him in the eyes then quickly got up she was a bit shy about that kind of closeness. She picked up her ice cube "I told it was fun" she said softly. She waited at the top for him she could help but wish she had ksised him then but she needed to go slow.

When he ran into her. he was planing on it. and when they stopped, he was looking up at her, he was slightly stunned and then confused as Alex quickly got up. it took him a second to get his mind back in order and quickly got up as well. "yeah, you were right." he said as he ran back up the hill with the ice. "Race ya to the bottom." he said, smiling some.

Alex stopped him and grabbed his shirt she pulled him in close "I should have given you this down there" she said softly she kissed him deeply and affectionately. She did not fully understand why she had wanted to kiss him so badly but she could not deny it. She held him close so he could not pull away the way his lips felt against hers was so amazing to her. She felt so alive like this.

Hunter raised a brow, slightly confused at what she meant till she pulled him into a kiss. it wasn't a peck like before, it was deep and affectionate. without thinking he let go of the ice block, and slowly wrapped his arms around her, he didn't try to hold her closer, he didn't seem to need to. gently, he let his hands rest on her lower back as he kissed her back, just as deeply and affectionately as she was kissing him.

She slowly released his shirt sliding her arms to wrap around his neck holding him close her finger tips lightly running through his hair. Her body was pressed gently against his she felt so warm inside it was nice being able to be close to some on e but she was still afraid but not as much now the way he returned the kiss was so different she felt no lust from it just longing much like she showed him.

He continued to kiss her back for a moment before slowly pulling back so he could get some fresh air in his lungs. He couldn't help but smile warmly at her as he softly rubbed her lower back, it felt very right to hold her like he was, though he she wasn't as delicate as she looked and could take being held harder, he didn't feel right doing that when it felt best to be like they were "thank you." he said softly, barely louder then a whisper.

She smiled and nuzzled her face into his chest "no...thank you... you are exactly as you seem I did not receive a feeling of lust in that kiss like every man I've been with in the past that make you truly perfect....but I am not worthy of that perfection...you deserve some one better" she said softly she pecked his lips and slid down on her ice cube.

Hunter listened as she spoke, smiling slightly at her as she did. but raised a brow slightly as she finished. "Alex, don't cut yourself sort." he said, just before she slid back down the hill. With a slight shack oh his head, he slid down the hill after her. when he got near the base of the hill, he dug the toes of his shoes into the grass, slowing himself down so he didn't run into her. "Alex, you're being too hard on your self. and besides I really like you, you have a wonderfull personality that shines like the sun once you let someone get to know you better." he explained. wanting her to cheer up.
