child of chaos (pony and kolath)

It was part of how she had been created only one of her kind could be in existence at a time the child would not live if the mother did not die. She hated to die like this but she knew there was no choice. The god of chaos pulled her up into the sky but she touched him one last time it hurt her greatly seeing him alone like this. she hoped her daughter would not ever have this problem that it would be less likely with her breeding being more mixed.

Niya cried loudly her stomach was empty and she sensed something was wrong. She was too young to understand now but she would once she grew old enough.

15 years later

Niya stood in her room it was a small cabin that her father had built brown hair caught a glimpse of the morning liht revealing a hint of red in it. Her dark brown almost black eyes looked around silently. She was small, her figure was slender but muscular but she was shorter than most her age. She had gotten into an argument the previous night with her father. She knew things were hard for him raising her on his own but things were hard for her too. She had slipped some herbs to help him sleep into his tea last night so he would be out cold for a few hours. she had her thigns already packed. she walked out and started heading away from the little cabin she needed to explore and to understand the things her father would not share. by mid day she was a long ways from home and a bit sleepy she stopped to rest in a field of grass a little ways from a house to rest a bit .

Garland slipped behind the house smirking as his mother looked around for him trying to find him and get him to come help with some boring chore. As she finally gave up he laughed and rushed into the field of tall grass knowing that whatever he ended up doing would be more fun than whatever chore his mom had for him. He was dressed in a loose shirt and simple pants with heavy leather boot below. He quickly came out onto the road and started walking up it from his house not taking note of anything around him his head lost in the clouds of his own fantasy.

Niya sighed in her sleep she wore a strange style of tunic with slits all the way to her waist a strip a fabric serving as a belt along wight a pair of tight fitting breeches. she sat up as she heard movement her ears had always been sensitive to sounds. This was one of many reasons she felt like an outsider. she was strong willed with a mouth a spirit to back it up.

He stopped looking to his side seeing a girl sitting up looking at him. He blinked not believing her beauty at first but then knowing it wasn’t a dream he got a little scared. “uh…Hello there…um…you aren’t a nymph or anything like that are you?” he was sure that his life was over based on the stories of nymphs and dryads taking young men away for their own pleasure.

Niya got up slowly stretching a bit "no I'm not" she said softly she looked at him a bit confused she had never seen a boy her age. The only other person she'd ever known was her father. She moved a bit closer she was as afraid of him as he was of her. She looked him over much like a skittish small creature would if he were holding out a treat of some kind. "what is your name?" she whispered. She had read many books so she knew at least how to meet some one if she ever got the chance.

He couldn’t help but stare at her a little her hair and eyes holding his gaze for far longer then was acceptable. “Um….Garland,” he couldn’t get over how pretty she was with her deep black hair. He granted hadn’t had too much experience with woman having only met a handful besides him mom and sisters. “Whats yours?”

"my name is Niya..." she said softly there was about two yards between them now and she stopped there. She wasn't sure what to think of him just yet. He kept staring at her and that was making her a bit nervous apparently she was as strange to him as he was to her. She eyed him carefully once more. Her dark eyes looked away quickly she heard an animal in the grass and ran out of the grass quickly she was a bit skittish she was still adjusting to the changes that had come with puberty and it was worse than that of most girls. "where do you live?"

His eyes never left her even when the animal rushed out he was used to the weird sounds and besides she was gorgeous and nothing could have ever compared to her. he looked up at her face again after a short travel over her body as she asked him where he lived. “Huh? Oh…over there.” He motioned over toward the farm house as he looked at her again.

"it looks nice..." she blushed slightly when he didn't stop looking at her. "Um...well I should be going" she said softly. She took the bag she'd packed of a few basics. She started walking her long dark hair blew slightly in the wind the light hitting it showing the red tint in it. She looked over at him once more and smiled. then continued on her way. She did not know where she was going but she was sure she would figure it out as she went. "it was nice meeting you Garland"

He watched her starting to walk away then blinked. “Hey wait?!!” he moved after her walking beside her once he had caught up, “where are you heading to?” he didn’t know where she was going or that she had no clue herself but where ever it was it wasn’t here and that excited him. he thought of all sorts of places they could end up going, maybe he would end up saving her from some dragon that she would be so grateful that…his mind wondered.

She looked at him as if not fully understanding why he would want to leave home but she figured he had reasons of his own much like she did. "why would you want to travel with me though?" she asked stopping she looked at him. She did not understand him she was normally very much a loner. She did not view herself as some one that others would want to travel with at least not for long.

He shrugged looking at her eyes again finally. “I don’t know you seem nice enough and I don’t want to stay here. There is nothing exciting about this place and maybe by traveling with you I might just find some adventure.” He shrugged but kept walking with her.

Niya looked him in the eyes and nodded "alright though I'm not sure my travels will bring us much in the way of adventure it is more of a soul journey in an attempt to see and understand." She said softly "but I would like the company it might make traveling more interesting." she said softly. "oh wait you should pack a bag of just some basics who know what you might need." she looked over at his house "and also won't your family miss you."

He shrugged “eh they won’t care I am just the middle son nothing important.” He nodded softly then turned. “Yeah I will be right back wait here.” He knew just what he needed and with out wasting any time he slipped into his room packed a change of clothes a blanket and then headed to the kitchen grabbing food and then rushing back out to meet her.

Niya had climbed into a tree where she was waiting for him to come back. Once she saw him heading back she jumped out "lets get going shall we" she said softly. She looked over at him eyeing him a bit she blushed slightly then looked away to look ahead she did not know why she blushed but she was sure she would find that out soon enough.

He had noticed her eyeing him and his body had started responding just from her look. He shook it off and moved up walking beside her the pack slung over one shoulder. He looked toward the horizon not knowing where their travels will take them but right now all her cared about was getting away from his dull life on the family farm.

Niya looked away from him as he got closer to her, she was not sure what to think right now. She wasn't that educated on social encounters reading books could only do so much. She knew he was handsome but she did not understand her own reactions. She didn't know what she was supposed to say now. She looked ahead to where they were walking. She wanted to see things outside of the little cottage her father had built and she hoped to find some one to help her with some strange things that had begun to emerge the last year or so. Her father though he tried very hard just didn't seem to understand.

He walked beside her for awhile not saying anything. He didn’t know what he should say all he could think about was how beautiful she was and what he would like to do to her. however he knew that would be the wrong thing to bring up right now. He sighed looking up at the sun seeing that the morning was getting on and soon it would be noon. He bit his lip before finally speaking, “So you going somewhere to see your family? Or boyfriend?” he wasn’t wanting to move in on another guys girl so he just had to know if she was taken.

"I left the only family I have. I have a father but he just ...never mind. I don't have a boyfriend I've never known anyone but my father" she said softly. she looked over at him she felt guilty about her father but she knew that he just didn't get what she was going through and she needed to get away from him.

He bit his lip again trying not to whoop in joy at hearing she had no boyfriend. “hey I understand about parents not getting you believe me I know that my mom or dad didn’t get me.” He looked away for a moment, “Hey look I think you are really beautiful and I was wondering if when we get to the next village we could spend some time I don’t know getting to know each other? “

She blushed "are you asking to...court me?" she said softly she bit her lip shyly, "I...I've never met a man my age so I don't know if I would be good for you but...yes we could do that" she said softly. She grabbed his shoulder and kissed his cheek softly. "it is nice to know some one else understands not being fully understood.

He smiled, “I guess I am asking to court you, and thanks.” He blushed as she kissed him but he took a little bolder move and slipped a arm around her shoulders as they walked along smiling wide, till her remember, “Drat…the next town this direction is two days journey away.” He sighed not wanting to wait but having already placed the condition down.

Kiya smiled when he touched her shoulders she flinched she did not like to be touched on her shoulders they always hurt. She didn't know why but she hoped to find out soon. "please don't touch my shoulders it's not your fault its just I don't like to be touched there" she said softly. She continued walking feeling a bit uneasy.

He removed his hand blushing, “sorry I didn’t mean anything.” He walked beside her in silence not sure what he should say now. Finally it came on toward night and he spotted a good place to make camp for the night. He pointed it out to her, “That little clearing would be perfect for a place to spend the night in.” and started for it.

Niya followed him silently she felt strange around him, she felt drawn in. She moved into the small clearing he was right it did seem perfect. She set down her pack and pulled out a few blankets she looked at him struggling with the fire she reached in acting like she was messing with something and fire sprouted from her fingers igniting the fire she pulled away from it not wanting him to know what she could do.
