Anona quickly moved the moment he touched her "I don't like to be touched especially by people I just met" she said softly she eyed him cautiously, "and I'm as relaxed as I can be, I can't risk my life for the sake of relaxation." she whispered "besides the water calms me it seems so harmless like this but when used correctly can be completely deadly." she said softly "I feel so strange trying to get used to this new life I'm so used to being able to relax and enjoy myself like I did for years but that's all over now.

Stepping back her held his hands up as though surrendering. “Forgive me I didn’t mean to offend. “ he stepped back away from her allowing her to have more room. “I will be tending the fire,” he said over his shoulder. Turning back to the fire he sat down in front of a tree letting his head fall back against it. Sighing deeply his eyes closed letting the darkness ease the pain of having to remain open and watchful, not to mention the sun had been fiercely bright of late.

His hand rubbed the back of his neck working out a few kinks that had come from the fight this morning. Nothing changed in his demeanor or actions as a soft crack brushed over his ear. Something was moving out there not from the same direction as the girl had gone. He pulled the bow from around his back in such away as to seem that it had become uncomfortable for him. Quickly stringing it one handed, having taken years to learn the trick, the hand at his neck pulled a yew shaft as he turned on one knee the bow drawn back ready to loose, should the maker of the sound prove to be an enemy.

Anona sensed something was wrong she formed a water ball from the stream and hurried back towards campsite, she sensed the attacker was circling them she formed several small orbs and froze them flinging them like weapons through the air hoping to provoke the attacker, she slid her left foot further behind her taking a more defensive stance. Her eyes turned completely black her nails grew a bit longer, her canines extended just slight bit "come on you came here lets see what you have to offer in a fight you thought you were worthy but I'll have to see about that" she said chuckling a slight bit. She sounded a bit overly confident but she had a right to be and that served as a kind of warning to them as to who they were dealing with.

She glanced at her companion "I hope you are good with that thing it looks like they sent their dogs to me, those things are a pain to deal with. They are mere minions nothing more but they come in groups of at least 3 normally but I think it is only one this time." she said softly.

He had spun out on to his knee and was about to loose his shaft as she came back into camp. For the briefest moments he turned to look back at her wondering what had spooked her so much it sounded like just an animal perfect for dinner for them, not something to get worked up about. His head snapped back to aim down the shaft. Suddenly he was thrown back a blue of brown and grey fur slamming hard into his chest. He hit the ground the air being knocked from his lungs, his arrow having flown off somewhere into the canopy above.

This creature they called it a dog despite its intelligence it took the form of a large wolf yet had the intelligence greater than that of most humans, it would speak if told to but only when told to.

Anona watched it carefully "you came alone for a reason so let us hear it" she said coldly if it meant her harm it would not have come alone.

"you best abandon your quest and surrender now. Your companion will be at risk" it said in a low rumbling voice.

She smirked "give this to your master as my answer." she flicked her wrist and burnt on the hair from its head to the tip of its tail in one straight line down its back. she smirked "now leave before I slaughter you or perhaps you would be better that way she pullout her blade and sliced its throat "I hate dogs."

Fryan had gathered himself pulling yet another arrow out and ready to fire as she brunt a trail down the dogs back. He hadn’t realized just how powerful she was even with the fight this morning but even a small spell like that took large amounts of time to prepare and be ready for use. But she hadn’t had anytime at all to prepare and…here she was using it. As she cut the throat of the dog he just stood there in shock looking at her. “I am surprised at how much magic you know especially with all the protections of magic and its learning restricted to the few.”

"there is one thing these people need to learn that once they have provoked me there isn't enough protection in the world to keep me away and I hope these attacks will make my point. I do not give them anything more than what they have given me and I plan to give them nothing but pain, fear and misery until they are all dead. Every last one of them. And I did not learn these things I was born with them they only grew stronger as I got older. I have nothing more that they can take from me that will hurt me, but they have so much left to lose." she said softly she threw her bode into the ground and walked off, she hunched over the water panting and dove her face into the cold water hoping to make this all go away, slowly she returned to normal and sat back on the ground tiredly. Her shoulders ached they always did after she shifted but it only happened when it was a partial shift. She reached back rubbing them gently to ease it.

Fryan just stood there while she denounced everything that he had given his life too. There had to be some sort of explanation as to why she felt so strongly about the group that he had now devoted his life to, what she said just couldn’t be true…could they? He knelt down his hand drifting in front of the dog’s mouth feeling nothing. There was a part of him that was outraged at how cold she was and how blithely she had cut the dog’s throat. It had been a living creature and only been doing what he was told what gave her the right to kill it so simply?

Burying those feelings deeply below he sighed, why would she resist what the order wanted so violently? All they wanted was to make the world better. He stood walking over to her moving beside her kneeling down. “Thank you for helping me back there I would have been dead if you hadn’t been there.” He saw her rubbing her shoulders, “Can I help you?” his hands moved up making it clear what he was offering but not doing anything till she said so.

She paused looking back at him, she had saved many from being caught in the cross fire of all that was going on but none of them had ever thanked her, normally if she paused after the battle to see if they were alright they just ran away from her in fear this hurt her more than anyone could even begin to understand so she had just quit asking she would save them then just walk away. But the fact that he had thanked her and did not show fear in his eyes this touched her in a way she did not fully understand. She smiled a small bit then it quickly vanished "you're welcome" she said softly. "most don't thank me they just fear me but why do I not see fear in your eyes" she asked looking at him with a certain softness in her eyes. She nodded as he offered her some relief, she had not been able to get relief except for that which time provided. She sat there quietly not sure what she should say now. The fact that he did not fear her made her feel like less of a freak like perhaps she really wasn't a monster like she had often dreamed. Even the man she had been previously traveled with left after he witnessed her killing some one for the first time even she had been in shock but she had only attacked when she felt threatened.

She could only dream of finding some one that could survive, manage to get through her shield, and never ever look at her in fear. Some one that didn't treat her like a monster and instead treated her like she was something different but like everyone else for the most part. She didn't want to fight and to kill but she felt she had no choice if she didn't fight she would either die or they would succeed.

He noticed the slight smile and knew that he was starting to slip past her mask. His hands going to her shoulders and rubbing softly. He could feel the slight shift in power as he was rubbing away her knots that came after the use of such tremendous power. “Most people fear what they don’t understand just because they don’t understand it. I do not…I have seen too many things in my life that I don’t understand to fear them.” His strong hands continued to work on her shoulders being surprisingly gentle.

"its nice not to be feared for once in my life. I've never had the luxury of being accepted. even before all this I wasn't accepted by anyone except a rare few but they are all dead now." she said softly. "be careful getting close to me" she whispered softly "the people who hunt me are more dangerous than I am" she said softly she pulled away from his grip she wasn't sure she liked him getting close to her she wasn't even sure what she was feelign right now with the way he was treating her "we should cook that creature we need the food." she said softly she had softened a lot from her cold and harsh shield she had put up but now it was weakening all because of him. "thank you for your kindness." she said softly.

He smiled letting her pull away without even trying to hold her. He was there to make her comfortable not do something for his own enjoyment. “Well everyone needs someone to confide in no matter who they are.” He smiled sitting down beside her nodding as she mentioned the animal and needing the food. “Your probably right we should, though this is going to be a messy business if you want I can take care of it and spare you more stress.”

"you think I'm a monster don't you? the way I react to these things the way I just kill with out thought. Believe it or not I don't want to and I don't like killing but I know that if I don't kill this will never stop until I am too weak to fight anymore. I know that to live in fear is not really living at all so I don't want to have anything more to fear I want to be able to go to sleep just once and not have to be afraid of being hunted down and without being afraid of losing some one else that matters to me. I don't like being a monster it hurts me to know that people view me as such." she said softly she turned to look him in the eyes.

He reached out softly as she turned to look at him. “No I don’t think you’re a monster I just think that you have been through more than most humans could handle .” his eyes held that same truth only a deep caring and worry for her wanting to show her that not all people were as bad as those that chased her. there was a small part of him that wished he could tell her the truth so she could see that the order only wanted what was best for her and the whole world but he knew he couldn’t right now she would react and most likely kill him. His eyes still soft his hand on her cheek he whispered once again, “Your not a monster.”

She was surprised when he touched her cheek she jumped slightly at first then relaxed she hadn't been touched like that for as long as she could remember. She felt a strange warmth from him that she did not understand, she didn't believe him at first when he said she wasn't a monster then she started to believe him as she looked into his eyes she started to lean closer to him like she was goign to rest her head on his chest then she quickly pulled away. "you are one of a rare few who think like that. I am only what I am because I have to be not because I want to be. I had no choice in the matter." she said softly. She turned back looking into his eyes again she couldn't help but to think of the way he had touched her cheek it had felt nice and gentle she liked it, it was so different than what she was used. The parents that had raised her had never even looked at her the way he just did. Her cheeks turned red and she quickly moved away. He was beginning to awaken something deep inside her that she did not yet understand or know of. He seemed like he could be the one to make her dream come true, that dream of freedom and of some one that cared for, accepted, even loved her. She had also dreamed of freedom from this hunting.

He watched her pull away almost wishing she had leaned against his chest wanting to hold and comfort her. “I maybe a rare person to think that way but it is the right way to think.” He turned toward the camp starting toward it before pausing to look back over his shoulder. “Had you been doing the killing for your own enjoyment you would be a monster; but I can see that it almost hurts you more to kill then it does the people or animals you kill.” He turned back hiding his face from her so she didn’t see the hurt there as he described himself, “Most people would have become callus to the feeling,” he turned back to her soft tears in his eyes, “I wish that I was still able to feel the pain of killing like you do…your more human then I.” he turned back to the camp going to start cleaning the dog.

Anona walked over to him she gently set her hand on his shoulder she pulled on him to turn him around then she hugged him resting her head gently against his chest "you are as human as I. I can see it in your eyes when you look at me. You feel it too you just have learned to pretend like you don't care like you don't feel it anymore but deep down it still hurts you and you know it. And...thank you. No one else has taken the time to look so deeply and to read me like you just did." she said softly she looked up at him she felt like a child again almost it felt pleasant to her. She had longed for this kind of peace "I don't want to fight them but I know I have no choice I know their intentions are not as good as they may think" she whispered softly.

He turned as she hugged him wrapping his arms around her lightly returning her hug, there was nothing other than just the friendship that was starting to blossom between them in the hug he tried nothing more. He lifted her chin lightly stroking her cheek again his eyes looking into hers. It was so tempting to lean down and touch his lips to her soft ones but he knew she would probably react very badly to that and so simply smiled. “I understand and if you wish help I will be honored to offer what little bit I maybe able to.”

She looked up at him so strangely at his offer she leaned up softly kissing his lips then pulling away "I am sorry I should not have done that it is not in my nature to do so please forgive me." she said softly. Her cheeks only got redder "I will clean the beast if you will set up camp the rest of the way" she said softly she needed to busy herself to keep herself from doing anything else that was foolish. She felt like she was losing her mind she had only just met him and she already felt so connected to him she already trusted him more than she did most, she had already let him into her life so much tellign him everything practically. She was afraid of trusting but could not resist.

He was caught off guard by her kissing him, he hadn’t been planning on doing anything along that line and so hadn’t been prepared for it. Hell he hadn’t been kissed or kissed anyone since the day his betrothed had died. He blinked a few times looking at her as she seemed about ready to wilt. Shaking himself he moved up behind her placing his hands on her arms and softly nuzzled her hair. “Don’t be sorry…it was a very natural reaction to the position we were in and I did just offer to help you face something rather dangerous.” He leaned around her smiling softly and winked boldly at her.

He reached to his back and pulled out his long hunting knife and pressed it into her hand. “As long as your sure about it I would be glad to set up camp.”

She paused closing her eyes for a brief moment as she flet him being so close to her again and the way he nuzzled her hair only made in worse, she opened her eyes pulling away she skinned the animal and started shredding the meat she reached into her bag pullout a thin piece of stone she placed it on the ground laying the meat on in it in thin strips "if I cook these on the fire over night on a low temperature they will last us a while they won't go bad for quite some time. She was starting to question if she should leave before he was killed as well but chose against it for now. soon camp was all set up and she had used the remainder of the meat to make a meal for them. she served him first then herself. She was hungry so she ate fairly quickly. She found herself looking over at him, she couldn't seem to brush from her mind the feeling of his lips against her own but she would not kiss him again or at least she would not initiate it. "thank you for all that you have done for me." she said softly

He was quick to set up camp stoking the fire first and making sure they had enough wood. He was trying to get past the feeling of her lips on his; but he couldn’t. Worse than that he found himself comparing her lips to Cassandra’s, his dead betrothed, they were different as was the feeling that came with them. Cassandra’s had sparked desire and longing to be close; but Anona’s lips had made him feel at peace and content like he had finally found the place that he belonged. He smiled taking the meat she offered and began to chew it thoughtfully. The taste wasn’t bad, but neither was it good, it was enough that it was something that didn’t make you want to throw up and could be eaten.

He looked over at her smiling once again, “I am glad too and would be glad to continue doing so if you will let me.” He moved a bit closer to her he looked down into her eyes his hand taking hers, “If you will let me?”

She looked at him her eyes were softer than they had been when they first met "I will let you but don't get too close to me people who do end up dead and I don't like traveling alone it is so boring and lonesome" she said softly "that and I can stand to watch another person die...especially you" she said softly. She looked down a bit what was she thinking saying all this her mouth was running wild with speech it seemed. She could not help but to look back to him her face inching towards his but she did not kiss him though she wanted to she couldn't she barely knew him she couldn't be this easy to get close to she was trying to fight all this but foudn she couldn't.

He looked into her eyes as their lips inched closer. He could see the fear of getting close to another person only to see them die again. His finger slipped under her chin urging her lips closer as his moved down a bit more. His warm breath played lightly over her soft moist lips as he felt her also. “I promise I won’t die” he kissed her lightly at first letting her relax into it a bit before deepening it slighty.

she let her eyes fall closed as he kissed her it felt so nice to her she leaned into the kiss more resting her hand gently on his chest this was a sign of trust. the promise that he made her caused a small tear to form and make its way down her face. She slowly lifter her hand to gently touch his cheek stroking the skin with her thumb as she started to lean into him a bit more. She now knew what feeling had been growing inside of her. the feelign that they were meant to be together forever. she slowly parted her lips kissing him more and more deeply and with such passion and fire that she felt only he would truly understand, flames started to form around them in a circle then a veil of shadow fell over them as if she could some how shield him to protect him for always.
