He just about melted as he felt her pressing against him. It had been so long since he had been near anyone that it was almost more than his mind could process. His hand reached up covering and gently starting to take hold of hers on his chest. He knew that he was slowly starting to fall in love with this woman no matter what his mission was he couldn’t help it. As he felt her lips part he deepened the kiss more his tongue gently brushing over her lips but not pushing in without her permission. He didn’t even notice the flames and wouldn’t have cared if he had he was finding happiness in the arms of a woman that he had barely known more than a day, and he was doing so willingly.

Anona felt so strange being so close to him she flicked her tongue lightly against his she grasped his hand tightly couldn't believe how nice it felt letting him be close to her. She didn't have any one left that she had gotten close to and even of those few none of them had truly accepted and seemed to understand her. She felt so strange right now she sensed that her guard should be up but she ignored it this seemed too perfect to be wrong.

His free hand slipped around her waist gently pulling her closer. He wasn’t going to hold her against her will but he was going to encourage her closer. His tongue slipped out feeling hers touch his and he began to move along hers slowly slipping down hers and just slipping past her lips a little he wanted to lower her to the grass and show her what she was missing by staying apart from others, but he held back staying away a little not wanting to rush her.

She pulled up onto his lap slightly and started to run her fingers through his hair loving this closeness she had never been wanted like this before and it made her feel amazing inside she couldn't believe how pleasant this felt to her their bodies being so close without fear. Though she did fear hurting him she knew she was dangerous when she felt one emotion too strongly. She started to relax in his arms loving the way he held her close. She moved her hand that wasn't on the back of his head to run up and down his spine.

Fryan groaned softly as he felt he move up into his lap. His hand slipped up to cup the back of her neck his arm around her waist tightening a little as he deepened the kiss a bit his tongue encouraging her to follow his back into his mouth. He was feeling the same feelings that he had long ago with Cassandra and just didn’t stop even though he knew that this was founded on the lie of what he was. His fingers intertwined in her hair as his lips for the first time left her lips and moved down to kiss her jaw line gently.

She gasped slightly as he broke the kiss to kiss her jawline, she felt so strange she flames around them increased in heat she was starting to sweat a little bit from the heat she loved what he was doing she had needed to feel this strange affection, she was trying to understand what this was she felt for him but her thoughts were starting to become clouded. She ran her hands up and down his chest, her eyes remained closed for this. His lips felt so good against her skin so gentle she felt safe like nothing else was near or could harm her.

His hand in her hair gently started to pull her head back as his lips started to move down her long graceful neck more. His free hand came up and lightly scratched down her spine through her tunic. He slowly started to press her back onto the ground inside the ring of fire just now noticing it but not caring for the extra heat as he could barely tell his body was already getting so hot. He wanted to push her tunic up to let those beautiful breasts out but he wasn’t going there yet knowing that she was so fragile he wasn’t sure she could handle it.

She gasped more she slowly opened her eyes as she began to realize what was happening to her. She quickly pushed him off as the fire turned to ice the veil of shadow faded away. She got up holding her head how could she be so stupid, she knew if she fell for him he would just end up dead she closed her eyes tightly "we should not do this again" she whispered. She walked away heading off away from the campsite going to the trees once the light no longer reached her she leaned her back against a tree trying to make the feelign go away but she couldn't she was battling with herself.

He sat there as she stood and disappeared into the trees. The ice had almost sapped all the warmth that the fire had given not to mention a bit of his sweat having frozen to his skin. He just knelt there wondering what he had done…he had tried to give her every chance to pull away and say no. he sighed and stood moving over to the fire having seen where she had gone but debating if he should follow. It wasn’t long before he did moving up behind her speaking up not to frighten her. “You shouldn’t be out here its not safe.”

"I'll be fine" she wasn't upset with him she was angry with herself she was putting him at risk, she moved away hoping that if she acted like she was mad at him that he would forget her it would perhaps spare his life she hoped. She was worried for him. She moved further into the darkness, she jumped up in a tree she was pushing him away trying to protect him.

Fryan was a skilled ranger which also meant that he was good at reading body language and peoples reactions. It wasn’t hard to put together what she was thinking, cursing slightly he reached up grabbing onto the lower branch of a nearby tree and swinging up into it moving after her, “I promised nothing would happen to me, can’t you see that I want to be close and help you!?” he climbed up higher toward her, “I chose to be close to you I won’t run away just to save myself, and I won’t let you make me stay way!”

Anona lept off the branch she was on tackling him to the ground holding him down "you will die everyone else does and your promise will just be broken to me." she said looking at him all of the thoughts in her head could be read in her eyes as she looked into his. She felt so much pain inside. She bent down as she looked deeper into his eyes kissing him again she held down his arms.

Hittign the ground hard his breath was barely returned as she kissed him. He breathed in deep of her scent as his hand automatically slipped up into her hair gently holding her lips to his for as long as she wanted to allow this kiss to continue. He wished he could explain to her that the order wasn’t as bad as she thought and that he wouldn’t be killed because they wouldn’t kill one of their members…but before he could hardly think that the words already sounded empty and dull in his head.

Anona pulled away from him again " no I can't do this. You need to stay as far away from me as you can. you are not safe and I can not stand another death on my mind. I know you will die there is no reason that you will survive do not make me promises that can't be kept." she said softly she moved away from him she was afraid of him because she feared him beign close would only end in his death. "you do things to me that no one else has ever dared and the idea of you death kills me inside so please leave"

Fryan got up to his knees looking at her as she pushed away almost hearing tears in her voice at the same time as fear and caring for him. He stood moving over behind her his arms wrapping around her one around her waist , and the other higher above her breasts but not at her neck. It was an embrace of people that were close and lovers. His lips gently descended on her neck kissing just below her ear. “do you really think any power on earth can break anything as strong as the feelings you make in me?”

"I know there is it has happened to me before" she said softly "not the same feelings but just as strong" she said softly she removed his arms from her she was trying so hard to push him away not wanting to get close trying to undo what was already done "I'm sorry for letting this happen if I could take this back I would" she whispered "but I can't I'm so foolish" she said angrily to herself. She moved back to the campsite pulling out her blanket and curled up to rest she wasn't going to talk to him now and she was just going to push him away in an attempt to save him.

He growled as she walked away from him yet again pushing him away as hard as she could. Well he wasn’t going to let her. she had awakened feelings that he thought he could never feel again and he would be damned if he let her go without a lot of fight. Moving back to the camp he set the rest of the meat they hadn’t eaten to cure in the smoke over night. Then when he had finished that he picked up his bedroll and spread it out next to hers softly touching her shoulder. “The night get horridly cold here it would be best if we share warmth and the blankets."

She pushed him away "it doesn't get that cold at night we will be fine" she said scooting away with her blanket. she made another fire between them "that will keep you warmer than I will now go to sleep" she said softly she burried herself in her blanket hiding herself from the world it would seem. She needed to stop this before he tried to make her feel more this was mroe than hse could handle.

He growled as she pulled away and blocked him by fire. “Why are you running so hard from what you are feeling?” his hand reached out almost touching the flames. He saw her curl up trying to block out what was going on around her not wanting to see the world right now. “Blast it Anona…don’t shut me out or you will kill me…” he looked down at his hands as he sank down into despair not knowing what to do to reach her.

She extinguished the flames and slowly turned over facing him "I shut you out because I know that if I love you you will die and so will the last fiber of humanity left within me." She said softly "do you know what happens to people like me. My father or at least the one that raised me when he found out what I was capable he did this to me" she pulled the glove off her left hand showing him the severe burn scars "told me if I was determined to go to hell then he should give me a taste of it now and put my hand in the fire. Good things don't happen to me or those around me."

He reached out as she showed him the scars, his fingers gently brushed over them as he sighed. “Maybe…maybe what you say is true.” He sat up moving over closer to her his hand holding her burned one softly leaning down to kiss it softly. “But after being through so much someone like you must have some good in your life or you will lose touch with what humanity is.” His hand brushed a lock of hair from her face looking into her deep eyes leaning down touching his forehead to hers, “let me be that anchor holding you here. I promise I will not let you lose what hold you have left…let me show you what there is that is worth holding onto?”

"I want to but I can't." she whispered the way he gently touched she moved closer hesitantly and eventually curled up next to him to keep him and herself warm since the night would be cold. "I just wish there was a way that I could protect you and keep you safe but I know I can't and you should know that. What makes you so sure you won't die?"

He pulled the blankets over them both cuddling her close to share warmth and also just to be close. “I know Anona, I don’t know how I know. Call it faith or hope, but the world has been so crule to you that it can’t just continue.” He truly believed that but there was also the fact that she blamed the order for the deaths of all her loved ones and he was a member of it…they wouldn’t kill him but he couldn’t tell her that.

"there is no light of faith or hope in my world of darkness only digging deeper into the cave leading me slowly downward. I only have one place to go and that's down. I had the luxury of such things as hope and faith once but not anymore none of that remains within me anymore." she said softly she nuzzled against him and fell asleep.

Fryan lay there for awhile his hand gently stroking her hair. He was thinking about all that seemed to have changed in him since meeting this girl. Sighing softly he tried to settle down just holding her closely nuzzling against her hair and sighing more. It was hard to stop thinking over all the things that they had been talking about…could what she thought really be true would the order really hurt someone so much as to drive them to the point of breaking, and if they could had they done so with him? Shaking such thoughts from his head he settled into a deep sleep.
